this is one of the most tragic events taking place in south asia.
literally you have to sell your organs to make a living.

It's quite tragic yes, so I guess this selling of organs takes place only in Pakistan and not India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka etc? Just out of interest, if people have to sell kidneys to make a living, how did they survive before the practice became commonplace, after all, it's only a fairly recent development?

.. it must be due to stricy visa restrictions by India..otherwise so many Pakistanuis went to India to get cheap kidneys in past.. its tragic and speaks volumes about vicious cycle majority of south asian population..

Surviving on one kidney will ultimately result in their premature death due to the lack of medical facilities, poor diets and the fact that they have little or no income to pay for long term medical services. Does anyone know of any NGO's working in this area i.e. helping those poor individuals financially so that they do not have to resort to such a inhumane practice?. In my opinion, this type of organ donation SHOULD be banned under International Law.

this about india too this is about the people's dignity. this is not a contest
who sells less/more kidneys.

It doesnt matter where these kidney Banks are located, it is morally wrong to buy kidneys from those poor unfortunate individuals. They are only given a temporary solution to their financial dilemma before being forced to take on debts again, but this time they have a vital Human organ missing :nook:.

I think Pakistan should also start to impose more strict immigration policies so that those taking advantage of the kidney trade are put out of business.
