Saeed Anwar was rested but I dont understand why they did not bring Imran Nazir along. He is the best fielder in Pakistan after Shoaib Malik, and easily a better batsman than Umar and Latif.

Well, Wasim Akram proved that he is still the best bowler in ODI matches. He only gave 19 runs in 9 overs and took 3 wickets with 3 maidens.
Imran Nazir has failed in international matches, I don't think he will be coming soon.
I would like to see Shahid Afridi do the same to Srilankan bowlers which he has always failed.
Since Inzimam is back, Anwar will be opening with Afridi, Youhana at 3rd, inzimam. Azhar mehmood batted well, so I don't think Shoaib Akhter will be coming back. Danesh Kaneria was horrible, Shoaib Malik is an excellent all rounder

Thank you, come again

Akram bowled well....which is nice considering his lacklustre efforts during the last 8 months.

Afridi had a good outing but unless he gets it going during the final....this would be yet another one of those flash in the pan Afridi performances.

Nazir should have been in the team no question about it. It is a silly move to leave him out. He will be opening for Pakistan on a regular basis in the next few years so he should be playing whenever possible.

Danish Kaneria's figures may not look too impressive but it was his debut and he bowled well. From the commentary, it looks as if he has started giving the ball more air which is a positive sign for Kaneria's test future.

Khair, Pakistan is really doing what is expected of them. They are a far better side that the Lankans and the Zimbabwe boys....so I would expect them to pull of convincing wins against both these sides.

The true test would be the South African tour later this season. We should be preparing for that because it`s going to be tough.

i think shoaib wont play the final....
but we do have one mre match to decide....

malik is a good allrounder....
but taufiq and navid r good batsmen....
while taufiq has been unlucky in both his games, latif failed cuz of the simple reason that he is not an opener but a middle order batsman....
dont forget he scored 391 in a local match....

We still need some solid batting from the opening pair .. Afridi is in good nick .. but he almost deliberately throws his wicket after scoring 40/50 runs .. why you have to whack every ball??? .. Taufeeq should have given a chance .. see that is the basic flaw with Pakistani selection .. a debuent should be played in atleast 10 or 15 matches before making any judgments on him .. its only logical … Youhana is currently the best bat in the team .. Inzi got his nuts crushed by Lafunga .. but the big guy will be back .. we have prtey solid middle order .. Rahsid has been disappointing with the bat .. Waseem has been very impressive with ball .. Uncle Waseem looks very dangerous with ball .. Shoaib .. is very lackluster .. vicky is dwindling as well .. Razak had no clue how to ball on this wicket … but his batting is solid .. spinners are very ordinary none of them a shade of Saqui … GO PAKSITAN!

Hey one more thing
These things are hard to explain
For some it seems strange... to swallow
The frontier of our minds
Is the last place we find
But maybe the first place we should go

its always a good idea to bat first after winning toss…( for pakistan specially)

yonis khanzinda bad…thanx yasir for posting the score board

Imran nazir is a very prommising player remember hershielle gibbs he just scored i think two 50's in his first 30 -35 matches and now look at him u have to work on players confidence ...u let him play 4 a while and see wat results they get ...but pakistan unfortunately dont do that very often ...they just let them play 4 about 10 matces and drop it i dont think thats encouraging ...

Here is Imran Nazir`s record. The kid is 19 years old and already has a hundred and four fiftys to his name. His hundred by the way was made against the West Indies in the West Indies as an 18 year old. That is not an easy feat.He does not have the best of averages but his strike rate is excellent and he should be playing more games instead of less. His fielding alone should get him into the team.

He is also the 2nd youngest ODI centurion in history.
