Receive a total of US$2 million in bonuses Pakistan squad rewarded for Twenty20 display
The Pakistan squad were rewarded with cash bonuses at a reception organised by the PCB for reaching the final of the ICC World Twenty20.
Each of the 15 Pakistan players and their eight officials were given Rs 2.5 million [approx. US$41,200]. “We may not have won the World Twenty20 title but our cricketers have made all of us proud by the way they played in the tournament,” Nasim Ashraf, the PCB chairman, said.
The PCB also honoured Mohammad Yousuf for canceling his contract with the Indian Cricket League and returning to the national Test squad. Yousuf, 33, received $100,000 for signing a central contract with the board and a further $100,000 for becoming the ICC’s Test player of the year.
The squad also received a cheque of Rs10 million [approx. US$164,000] from the Dubai-based Fortune Group owned by Mohammad Ali, a Pakistani businessman. The total prize money awarded was US$2 million.
It was a wonderful function--where Anwar bhai's wise cracks--made our team roll and enjoy the classic/unabashed **Maqsood **humor!
Had a great time meeting many cricket greats of our country---and our guests from South Africa.

That reminds me.....Dhoni called me last night. He told me "Some1 Sir....can you help us....its raining here in Kochi and we can't get enough practice". I told him..."don't worry son...certain things are beyond our control ...just do your best".
This morning it was Sachin on the line. He wanted to apologize to me for the duck he scored in Bangalore..... I told him....these things happen to the best of us and he should not take tension.
I just saw some missed calls from Dravid, Yuvraj and Ganguly.....I wish I could return their calls but I have no time....udhar se Munaf Patel has been urging me to put in a good word for him......kyaaa kyaa karoon

I was looking at some of the clips of the show on GEO and they said that not only the T20 squad but all of the central contract players were awarded. That I don't think is true since I cant imagine Shoaib Akhtar sitting there with all the players. So any news on Shoaib's future?
