Pakistan Soccer Champions ???

hey ppl … I am a die hard soccer (football) fan and I love to play soccer. I am currently in more then three leagues and have played both semiprofessionally and for fun in various teams around the world.

My question is this to you ppl → Do u think pakistan has a potential in soccer ? I mean Iran is right beside pakistan and they made it to the world cup while pakistan lost to bangladesh in soccer!!! ;(

iran is rite next to pakistan..pakistan alwayz make it 2 the cricket world cup and iran probably won't be able to even beat bangladesh...

plz dont compare cricket to soccer ...

Soccer is 'the' sport of the world played by more people and countries then anyother sport in the world...

cricket is a stupid british game which keep us common-slave-wealth nations remember the british bastar_s!!!

not saying that I am not proud of pakistan in cricket I am just sayin wat is the potentional of pakistan in the future :?

Oh so football i.e. soccer for the yanks, was not invented by the brits?

Kewl to see another pak who plays soccer. I played varsity and semi-pro until about 4 years ago but feel its the best sport in the world.

Pakistan may not do well under current circumstances. I know Pakistani guys who can play a hell of a lot better than the clowns in our national squad. even th emakranis playing in local grounds have more talent. Until we dont give exposure to the sport and atheletes and implement some standards to select people rather than someone’s bhanja bhateeja, we will not do well.

actaully it was'nt invented by the brits ... it is one of the oldest sports same can trace it back to roman times when they used to play soccer type sport with their enemies heads

leave each sport to its own merit, not every country is good at every sport, but to “hate” a sport because of where it originated goes against sportsman spirit…but heck thats just me.

The game of modern cricket was also developed in many countries, the development of the whole one-day concept was not an english invention. There are cricket teams in other countries besides the ones we hear about but they are just not competitive enough to be on the world stage.

otherwise letss stick with kabbaddi and gulli danda

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/smile.gif

they were our invention (even though gulli danda is played in italy as well)

hmmmm........i love both soccor and cricket....there's no comparison....and i don't think u should dislike a sport because of where it was invented!!

pakistan....well soccor wise...who knows!! 157th in the fifa league...(last time i brought fifa world soccor anyway) they team would get crushed against the likes of italy or germany! but its a good that we have a team...its a start.

in england...(thats where i am) i am shocked and dissapointed to see the lack of asian's there are in big teams.....i'm not saying that oh stick an asian in to give a racial balance HELL NO....i know there are talented young asian footie players out there and thats why i feel a little mad!!! i just don't understand why they aren't being snapped up to play!!!

soccor out in pakistan isn't as big as cricket...or hockey...so the following isn;t as much and so that may beone of the reasons why they aren't that good!?

are u thinking abt going full on professional?

y2nad

about going proffesional … well no here in Canada soccer is not that big so there are’nt many soccer scholarships and as such I can only then concentrate on my university studies

but if a scholarship came along I would love to go proffessional

I think there is alot of talent in pakistan. but as someone have already said they need the right kind of adminstration. i have heard of pakistani guys playing in arab countries soccer team.

Try getting a soccer scholarship from a uni. the universities that have varsity soccer programs usually have scholarships for talented players. If canadian universities are not into it, dont limit yourself. Virgina, North carolina, Duke, UCLA, Temple, Lehigh, etc all have soccer scholarships available.

But even then you will not be able to go professional because collegiate atheletics regulations would prevent that. Playing on a good varsity team will help improve the skills and may demonstrate your skills to scouts not only for US teams but for others as well.
