I dont have a clear understanding about takfeeri ideology so wont comment about it. But agree with wuts said about dictators in OP. These military rules and its favourites are all what have hurting us down to the core.

And I noticed above that you ascribed the ‘bengalis are traitors’ ideology to Yahya, but not to his buddy who later went on to become the PM, and Pakistan’s only civilian martial law administrator.
I dont think that takfeeri is root cause here, the basic thing is HATE, when takfeeri were not around, we were victim of ethnic hatred…
Even today it is ethnic and takfeeri together fueled by hate, tomorriw when this takfeeri will fade away, some other form of hate would be there…
The lack of tolerance, with not knowing how to disagree resptecfully, with foul lingo by leadership…yup ground is ready for new hatred once takfeeri goes in back-ground
This is general perception that PPP gov’t under Benazir supported Taliban.. But this is not true.
ISI and agencies created them during Zia era, and flourish them during 90s… It is not like Benazir supported them… But she was forced to do.
Benazir could not visit Kahota Research Lab.. This was the reality of her status… Even though, she was PM, but she was not allowed in certain matters.
Lets not confuse Taliban with ‘mujahideen’. Mujahideen was a group of fighters who were basically fighting the Soviets…(incidentally, mujahideen were created/armed by ZAB as well…not Zia, as the common perception goes.)
Taliban came into being in 1994 after USSR’s demise, and yes, Benazir supported it, tacitly or not. Her aim may have been to gain favor from domestic idiots like JUIF, but she used it for political motives.
And her banishment from Kahuta was perhaps for good measure, because according to AQ Khan, she was the one who ordered him to transfer nuke secrets to Korea and Iran

اس تناظر میں بعض تجزیہ کا یہ رائے دے رہے ہیں کہ انتہاپسندی کی جڑ نہیں بلکہ پتوں کی تراش خراش ہوگی اور نیشنل ایکشن پلان کی طرح رد الفساد بھی نیا لالی پاپ ہی نکلے گا۔ کیونکہ بحیثیت قوم ہم مسائل کو حل نہیں بلکہ ٹالنے کے ماہر ہوچکے ہیں۔[/RIGHT]
