^ There is always disparity between private sector and public sector salaries. Could you compare remuneration of directors and presidents of big corporations in the USA v/s salary of Chief Justice (or even the President) there? I am sure the CJ's salary would be a fraction of what corporate executives make.

Chief Justice is not only a critically important position, but it is the highest position to which a lawyer can aspire.
I don't see a problem is giving him renumeration equivalent to what a CEO in Pakistan would make. It is an important requirement to make sure that the best and brightest aspire to this position.
Not only that, but good pay is critical to avoiding the temptation of corruption. There is no position in Pakistan that must be sheltered from corruption more than Chief Justice.
