i didnt travel till lahore in it but within sindh province but for us it was great from karachi to Rohri/sukkur 5.5-6 hours including one stop total distance around 500 kms
I think it is not correct. The main track can only sustain 120 kph which is 75 mph. Due to number of speed restrictions the ave speed comes not more that 45-50 mph. According to your estimate 500 kms is 312 miles when divided by 6 hours will give you 312/6=52 mph. One kilometer is 5/8 of a mile. Correct your estimates/mathematics.:)

track condition depends on where you are, from karachi to hyderabad it took 2 hours and speed around 60-80km, but hyderabad onwards it was blazing fast my estimate above 100 in range of 110-120.
yo cannot calculate 312/6 not considering stopovers, i.e atleast 40 mins including slow downs around stations and stops.
so do the match again (312/5) x (8/5) around 92km/h .
and if you do the average based on longer distance to lahore it would surely come well above 110-20 .

u must be kidding. i traveled by train for 20 years in india and have been travelling in india's fastest trains for the last 10 years and i know what an average speed comes to over long distances. Bhopal Shatabdi is the fastest train in india and it travels at 160 kms/hr and it takes 7 hours to cover a distance of 700 kms from Delhi to Bhopal with one stop at Agra for 5 minutes. the average speed comes to 100 km/hr...IR's trains are much faster and their tracks are much better than PR's**

well i said what i said given facts with train name and stations based on my own experience and let someone give me say i m wrong who has actually had a ride during that time.
it started 4:00pm from karachi and reached rohri/sukkur 9:30 or 9:45 max then it went up to 10:15 then 11:15 and last one i had three weeks back was 12:20.
travel had one stop over around 10min , with 15 mins slow ride due to hyderabad city limits, and also almost 20-30km slow ride for karachi city limits.
although its not the topic which one is faster but i am surprised at your response as if it was your disbelief that can happen in pakistan.
well train i referred to had top speed of 140KM/H then (almost 3-4 years ago) i guess rarely it touched that benchmark that is when PR was overhauled tracks were repaired and now same train is pathetic same distances 8-9 hours with inhouse condition much better than average indian trains but pathetic than how it was.
......not only the condition of the room worsened but service and timings as well, before for 600 mile distance it took around 5.5-6 hours including stops and now almost 8-9 hours.

i know...how can i believe the unbelievable when u urself made a big mistake in writing the fact...u initially mentioned 600 miles between Lahore and Karachi which in ur subsequent post mysteriously reduced it to 500 kms which is 320 miles...roughly half of what u initially had stated. the discussion started right there. it is about efficiency of Railway systems and who should benefit from who. it makes perfect sense if India N Pak directly do business. thank you**

and time i mentioned 9:30-9:45 was in pm not am...
please go through my last post i had mentioned rohri/sukkur which are cities separated by a river..you should have read carefully but i understand you were in not beliving mode...
