Prosperity in Indian Punjab could be due to their diaspora as well. More Indian Punjabis are outside the country as compared to Pakistan proportion wise, and that plays a big part in prosperity as well. Case study is Mirpur in AJK, where you can find big houses and shiny shopping centers all propelled by foreign money. IN Pakistani Punjab the cities are growing, a few years back I happened to travel to Islamabad through GT road and was really impressed by Industry and Furniture shops all the way through small and big towns. As far as agriculture i concerned I agree Indian Punjab is the bread basket of India and has remained for the past many decades. As far as the cost of buying cars is concerned thats more due to the hyper inflation which the country is witnessing during the past decade, more of policy flaws on the federel level.
