Pakistan Protests: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Lies About Army’s Involvement in Parliament

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has been embroiled in another controversy, after Pakistan Army’s Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the army’s involvement on the government’s command, despite Sharif’s earlier insinuation on the National Assembly floor where he blamed the army’s inclusion on Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leaders.

“ISPR confirms Government asked army to play role. Nawaz Sharif should now be disqualified under Article 63. He also maligned Parliament and Army.”
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Interior Minister Chaudhry Ali Nisar Khan had earlier suggested that the army had stepped in at the request of cricketer-turned politician and PTI chairman, Imran Khan and PAT Chairman, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri.

"Again and again they said they only trust the army and will only have talks through the army. When a group or two parties has no faith in the judiciary, the opposition, lawyers or civil society and has no confidence in anybody, what option remains for the government?"said Nisar Khan.

However, Pakistan Army’s Director General of ISPR, Asim Bajwa, confirmed today (29 August), in direct contrast, that the army was called on by the government.

Since ISPR confirmed the news, both Khan and Qadri are calling for the Prime Minister to be disqualified.

Meanwhile, PTI Chairman, Imran Khan, has confirmed that his party will expand their protests to Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Faisalabad starting Saturday (30 August).

An Express Tribune online poll reveals that 52 per cent of voters feel the Army is the only way forward while a close 48 per cent voted against the army’s arbitration, even if it takes longer to resolve the dispute between the various political actors in Pakistan.

The Azadi (freedom) March began on 14 August, Pakistan’s Independence Day, with a mission for Naya (new) Pakistan, free of corruption.

Khan had kick-started the march saying: “The entire Pakistan knows that the general elections were rigged,” before warning the government to verify the voting count or else a Tsunami March will take over Pakistan."

Re: Pakistan Protests: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Lies About Army’s Involvement in P

Before starting you bhangras about PM lying in the parliament please go through the sequence of the facts:

  1. The government team negotiates with TUQ and IK teams. They are told that both of them don’t trust Supreme Court, opposition leaders, parliament, or any other forum. When asked whom do they trust.. they say only army. This fact is not denied by both inqalabi groups when government version of the negotiation was explained by the government team. so we can safely assume that it’s true. This is the first suggestion of involving army in the negotiations which came from inqalabi group and not the government.

  2. PM was told that the inqalabis only trust the army. PM calls the army chief and asks him for facilitation to resolve the issue.

  3. Army accepts the role of “facilitator”.. and contacts the inqalabis…

  4. This is the speech given by one of the inqalabis after meeting the army chief
Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri Addresses Media & PAT workers after Meeting with Army Chief Raheel Sharif - 29th August 2014

This is giving impression that army has become mediator, guarantor, and umpire.. (not facilitator)

The other unstable container top inqalabi said this:

Imran said that during his meeting, General Raheel Sharif told him that he would guarantee a transparent probe into the election fraud.

  1. PM negates the impression being given by inqalabis in the parliament. He says that army was requested by him to play a facilitator because he was told that the inqalabis want to talk to only army and trust only army…

  2. ISPR tweets that PM told the army chief to become a facilitator.. This tweet negates the impression created by both the inqalabis that they were given any guarantee by the army chief who was acting only as a facilitator. This tweet proves both inqalabis as liars.
Govt announces new SOPs at airports

  3. Inqalabis start jubilation that PM was caught lying in the parliament. He should resign because he is not sadiq and amen.

Now before inqalabis start their bhangras.. and label PM as a liar.. I would request them to clarify these points;

  1. Did their negotiating team say that they want to talk to the army and trust only army.

  2. Who is the third umpire whose unglee has the power to dismiss the parliament, PM and whole system. This third unglee involvement has been indicated by IK on several occasions.

Go on with bhangras but please clarify these 2 points before people consider you as barriers of ultimate truth.. !!!
