Fawad is a definite stable bat in the lower middle order however with the new finds of Ahmed Shehzad and Asad Shafiq how can you find a spot for him..
Here is my thought on a possible playing 11...some ifs in there...and Younis as captain...not Afridi...YK won us the T20 cup so my bet is on him for a good fight in the ODI cup.

Afridi not assured to lead Pakistan in World Cup
Islamabad—Pakistan ODI and T-20 skipper Shahid Afridi is currently not assured of leading Pakistan in the forthcoming World Cup as his performance has not impressed Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) members.
“Afridi’s recent performances as captain have not impressed too many Board members and one of the biggest issues that are irking them is his public criticism of his team mates. Results have not been great, but the public criticism of team mates is not going down too well with the decision makers,” sources close to PCB told PakPassion.net.
The source confirmed that Afridi’s performance as captain in the upcoming six one day matches in New Zealand will determine whether he is appointed captain for the World Cup.
“The Board will look at Afridi’s personal performance and also how well he leads the team, as well as how he conducts himself, before deciding on whether he (Afridi) will lead the team in the World Cup.
I would be very surprised if the Board makes a decision regarding Afridi, before the six match series in New Zealand.”
In addition to the discontent regarding Afridi’s public criticism of team mates, the source added that there were strong differences of opinion between Afridi and some selectors regarding Fawad Alam and Shahzaib Hasan.
“There are some selectors who do not think Fawad Alam and Shahzaib Hasan should be in the one day and Twenty20 squads, but Afridi has a different opinion to them.
There have been previous disagreements between the selectors and Afridi regarding the two players (Alam and Hasan) and the issue will rear it’s head once again when the final squad for the World Cup is due to be selected,” the source concluded.—APP

These selectors are numb nuts. They just want to control everything. At least give captain the team that he wants to lead when you expect him to bring the World Cup home. Fawad Alam is definitely hard done by this squad, not even in 30 probables. That has got to hurt when he hasnt been given a long stable run to permanently establish himself, however he has delivered consistently.

Also one of the biggest politicians in the team. Need the team united and it would be easier to do that without Shoaib Malik.

I just cant believe Fawad is kicked out .. The way he'd been dropped previously despite giving performances, I had an idea that doesnt have any chacha mama in Board. And very soon he'll be gone for good, very similar to Asif Mujtaba.
About captaincy, there shouldnt be any doubt that it should be handed over to Younus. You just cant find any match to him right now.

Only great news is that Afridi's sidekick good for nothing Fawad Alam is out.. he cant even middle a ball after being at wicket for a long time.. the only scores he has are ones where Pakistan side had already lost and opposition is least interested in singles...

Perhaps PCB management itself is involved in the spot/match fixing corruption. How else can one explain continuous selection of Kamran Akmal and exclusion of Yousuf?
