sadly it will be railroaded due to people's hunger for power, ethnic politics and all.
I have this negative feeling too. I hope President Musharaf and his team can continue for another 10 years working on their economic reforms. Inshallah.

With nothing going on in balochistan and BLA singing "la la land" [Pakistan quiet in lieu of the US], what good will it do?
I now find myself agreeing more and more that US is the cause of the instability in our region. Bhancho US and its kuttay NATO don't even have the guts to deploy thousands more of their troops in afghanistan unlike the Soviets. I don't see the current contingent ever defeating taliban.

We are fast becoming [in many ways have] what people used to make fun of india! I wonder why can't we use mullahs, like in bangladesh, to try and lower the fertility rate [people rather make fun, than learn from bangladeshis].

Yeah, Pakistan is pretty screwed if it doesnt get organized quick... With so many people on the way, there is no telling how bad things are going to get.

In my opinion there will be a Pakistani Civil War: Democrats vs Republicans.
Then there will be 2 nations: Punjabistan and Muhajirabad.
And 2 capitals: Lahore and Karachi.

Oh shut up. That wont happen. I can envisage a war between Islamists and moderates, but no split on Punjab/Mohajir lines.

population explosion is the base of every single problem.
Has anyone heard of Malthusian theory??? if we dont control the population the nature will do it e.g. floods,sunami,earthquake etc etc

What chinese did was the best ..1 child policy. alteast we can ask people to stop after 2 children and not to make cricket/football team.
In india the major problem is there in two states..UP and Bihar. they constitute 40% of the population.

^^ I agree but the population growth is way more than what is needed. we gonna add 3 billion people in next 2 decades.

Aren't these two states also the least literate in the country? I agree with Pakpatriot that when education is given most importance even the population in India will be controlled by the people themselves rather than the government forcing the issue on people. I don't want people in India to lose their freedoms like the people of China

Here people are only worried about future of musharraf , Bibi and Nawaz , no one bother to think what would happen if we cant get rid of them soon .

Do you hope some day we will see some kind of French revolution is Pakistan? Or as a nation we gone defunct ?
Look at that State aftar dinner thread , cant they do aftar at their homes ? There are million of people in Pakistan who do aftar with a glass of water and some dates , Bahi , and on some fine days they aint blessed to have that luxury .
On that state iftar stuff , around 50 people will eat or destroy food , enough for 500 poor people . This is truculence !!!

my prediction about pakistan is that it will break up into many pieces or be absorbed by nations around it. within 50 years when china and india get big enough, pakistan will be a battleground for the 2 nations to wage their influence.
