ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Wednesday accused the Chaudhry cousins of Gujrat of planning to rig the February 18 elections in their home constituency in cooperation with the district coordination officer (DCO) and district police officer (DPO), and demanded that the district be declared sensitive and put under the army’s control.

PPP Central Secretary (finance) Babar Awan said this in a press conference here. PPP candidate Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar, who is contesting against Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain in Gujrat, was also present on the occasion.

“Gujrat should be declared sensitive and a Swat-like army operation be launched there to eliminate unwanted elements. Gujrat has practically become a no-go area, necessitating an army operation,” Awan said.

Fake list: He alleged that the Chaudhrys had prepared fake electoral lists with the ‘cooperation’ of the DCO and the DPO.

He showed a voters list of a NA-105 union council in which many voters were registered without their national identity card numbers, fathers’ names and their home addresses.

Mukhtar accused the Election Commission (EC) secretary of being involved in rigging in the elections.

He said that according to a Supreme Court case some 5,500 outlaws were already present in Gujrat under the protection of the Chaudhrys, who, he alleged, had brought many Indian outlaws in the garb of kabaddi players.

“We fear that these outlaws will hijack the polling stations on February 18. That’s why we are demanding the army’s deployment in Gujrat besides a Swat-like operation there,” he said. Mukhtar said he had submitted these complaints to the EC.

This is why I believe the Party of Traitors that destroyed Eastern wing from Western Pakistan for sake of money and power is the greatest threat to the Republic and under no circumstances it should be allowed to repeat it’s criminal intent.
