I never said taliban camps would disarm or the parallel state in Waziristan would end. My solution was only for an end to suicide bombings in the country.

Why should all supplies be cut off? Why should all residents be punished for the wrongdoings of few jihadis. Neither the people of the tirbal areas created these jihadis nor all of them support them. Should the whole Pakistan be bomed because its army has been exporting islamic terrorism in the whole world?

And if the people are to suffer, then there is no way around it... This would be the most humane way of dealing with the civilians, atleast we're not bombing them!
I mean, I appreciate your concern, but lets face it, there really is not way around it. Civilians will have to bear the suffering, the alternative is far worse.
And this isnt the first place where innocents have suffered. Criminals, where ever the be, when they commit their crimes, put everyone at risk...

Yeah, but that doesnt resolve the problem of there being Taliban and the the parallel state.
The question is, how to disarm the Taliban and destroy that parallel state...
As far as I can tell, the only way to do it is to go in there fighting.

so do you think Pakistan would be able to justify militants operating openly from inside Pakistan with KNOWN locations to launch attacks in Afghanistan?
You say its not our war, allowing these bases in Pak MAKES it our war, and MAKES us the aggressors against the current govts of Iraq and Afghanistan.

People we are bombing these day, a while back, took back kashmir from indian occupation.
They could still do more for pakistan then you and me are willing to to do.
You answer your question problem could be fixed in "DAYS" if Govt. want it.

Not to get really off topic, but this idol worshipping needs to stop, be it for afghans or for persians or for arabs! Actually, the pathan tribal looting of kashmir wasted valuable time and may have helped india, not to mention turning the local populace against the tribals. What I don’t understand is that why didn’t the tribals capture sri nagar and its airport so indians couldn’t land in october 1947?

What beats me is how can any decent nation live in peace knowing that OBL is camping in its backyard.
If I was Musharaff, I would allow the US troops to carry out operations inside Pak territory to clean up the mess. Its like getting outside help (for free) to do your plumbing work.
Its really a win-win situation for Pak and America. Too bad most Pakistanis don't see it that way.

Are you be that "humane" if today an operation is launched against MQM and mahajirs are targetted at collateral or being part of it? I don't think so. Police killed many innocent people in encounters in karachi in 95/96 [on pretext of MQM], while your punjabi, sindhi and pathan tribals went about their lives and also rejoiced over it.

Its amazing to see support of Army's action against these fanatic.Dont get me wrong.I am all for it. But when same set of morons were doing same shyte against India in kashmir for last 20 years, they were called freedom fighters and were role model of many people here. They were celbrated, chanda's were collected for them. Indian army was criticized for heavy handedness and now here we are most of Pakistani seems to be supporting actions of Pakistani army against same set of mornonic fanatcis. Sad part is that it came at the cost of so many lives including 130 who died yesterday.

"Sir" :p , do you know how much kashmir we had even in 1947 [in 1948 too?] that we could've declared ceasefire and still easily threaten indian supplies? We were in poonch and had we not had thickheads in our army "sons of soils"], we should have taken our incentive when we had it..
PS Btw, baltistan was taken back by the local scouts. I believe the govt of pakistan also gave this irish guy from british army some medal for leading the successful revolt. Azad kashmir, sans N. Areas, isn't much if you look at the map.
