Pakistani Bowling Performance VS Eng in ODI :sunnyboy:
Abdul Rehman couldn’t get much wickets but his economy rate was awesome and Hafeez did his best. But other bowlers performance was just pathetic.

Gul is simply pathetic :smack2: Now there is seriously needs to groom some new pacers.

Re: Pakistan Performance in ODI's

why don't we play NASIR JAMSHAID, he is a good left handed opener
Tanveer Ahemd was performed well but he was not selected fot this tour

Re: Pakistan Performance in ODI's

Tanveer Ahmad was far better then Gul but i think due to age factor he is not in ODI team.
For ODI's we need some young pacer who can move in the field quickly.

Re: Pakistan Performance in ODI's

Overall it was pathetic performance

Re: Pakistan Performance in ODI's

yes it was
i am afraid k T20 mai bhi . . . .

Re: Pakistan Performance in ODI's

Hafeez is the most over-rated player in the team. Anyone who has an average of 25-26 will not win you matches at the top of the order. If you look at Pakistan's supposed first choice of top five batsman in ODI's - here is their pathetic ODI career average:

Hafeez 95 ODIs - average 26.24
Farhat 50 ODIS - average 31.10
Younis 237 ODIS - average 32.91
Akmal 58 ODIS - average 38.04
Malik 203 ODIs - average 33.03
Misbah - 94 ODIS - average 42.31

Top that off, with a keeper who cant bat (Mohammad Salman, Sarfraz Ahmed, Adnan Akmal) and a slogger in Afridi - means you are basically hoping against hope that the opposition bowlers have an off day for most of these guys to score.

There is a distinctive lack of class in this batting line up. Maybe Umar Akmal can become a class player one day, but hes not there yet. Compare the averages of these guys to any other top team - where all their top 5-6 batters average over 40 and even close to 50 and you know why we struggle once we are playing against top teams.

Re: Pakistan Performance in ODI's

To defend Hafeez, his average has been 34.40 since his re-emergence in 2010, it was 37 before this series.
Imran Farhat's ave is 32.4 for same period (coming back in 2010). But Hafeez is an 'all-rounder' while Farhat is so called specialist batsman.
Younis averages 32.91, I agree he should not be in the ODI/T20 team.
Shoaib Malik averages 8 runs since re-inclusion in Sept 2011.
Misbah's overall average is 42.31 which is NOT pathetic by any means, he is averaging 47 since his come back.

I would axe Farhat, Younis and Malik from the team, bring another opener (may be Nasir Jamshed or Ahmed Shehzad) and pair him with Hafeez for 2-3 series to see how they perform.

Re: Pakistan Performance in ODI's

I dont see Hafeez as being a match winning opener. If Malik is being kicked to the curb, Hafeez can be given the chance to play at 6 as an allrounder. I dont think he has the ability, technique, or temperament to win matches as an opener against any other team besides Bangladesh and maybe Sri Lanka.

Re: Pakistan Performance in ODI's

whatever happened to Ahmed Shehzad? He was good batsman and was showing signs in right direction

Re: Pakistan Performance in ODI's

ahmed shahzad gone with the wind since conservative captain does not like him...change odi captaincy...give it to hafeez...he will win matches for pak since he is attacking and an all rounder, give t-20 captaincy to shahid...he is toonty toonty toota player...he will win pak t-toonty matches..

Re: Pakistan Performance in ODI's

btw if i scan qr code...what will i see?

Re: Pakistan Performance in ODI’s

:smack2:
Below is the Average of Top Pakistani ODI players. So 38 or 42 is not a bad average else you ll say Inzi having aver 39 and Saeed Anwer 39 was just pathetic :smack2:

Re: Pakistan Performance in ODI’s

Inzamam and Saeed Anwar played well over 200 ODIs and scored over 8000 ODI runs. If their average is 39, thats still good considering the amount of games they played…however no doubt both were good enough to be averaging well into the mid 40’s. Saeed in fact did average over 40 for a good time, till his slump in 2000 which affected his overall average. Anyway, they cannot be compared to bunnies like Hafeez, Farhat, Younis. Anwar and Inzi were in a different league, great players against any attack in any country. If Younis, Hafeez, Farhat, Malik etc were even HALF as good as those two, we would still be winning a lot of games.
