We got places in Pakistan which are named after the places situated in Arab, central Asian countries or places which are named after famous people from those countries. Alhamra, Qartaba Chowk.. Even we got Samarqand sharbat. We got Tariq Road (behind the name of Tariq Bin Ziyad), even we have road named after Jamal u din Afhgani.
Are there any places in those countries named after our famous personalities like Jinah, Iqbal, etc? Did they acknowledge our ‘Shalamar gardens’ like we did their ‘Alhamra’?
A number of streets in Tehran are names after international personalities:
Muhammad Ali Jinnah Expressway – western Tehran
Iqbal Lahori Street – eastern Tehran
Sufi Pilgrimages: Maulana Rumi Shrine (Museum) visit- Travel Guide
The garden outside the shrine is
called Rose Garden for reason obvious. Konya,
like the rest of Turkey, boasts a huge variety of
flowers and especially the fruit tastes better than
anywhere else.
As you enter the gate of the shrine, you will see
graves of many personalities with most having a
mevlevi style turban on the headstone. One of the
striking one is a tombstone of Allama Iqbal
(Muhammad Ekbal), which is not the actual final
resting place of the great philosopher but an
honour granted to Allama for his immense
reverence for Mevlana Rumi, see below.
this thing really arouse the feelings of pride in my mind
