The statement said that Google Trends show the searchers coming from countries as well as their cities. In some searches like “how to make bomb”, New Zealand ranks No. 1 and its city is at No. 2.
“This show that if a country is ranking number one in a global search, some of its cities should also be among top ranking cities. But if someone searched “horse sex” as reported in the story, Pakistan is at the top whereas none of Pakistani city comes in among top 10. Similarly, if someone ties all other words reported in the story, Pakistan comes on top but its cities do not come on the top 10. This means that this data is badly managed and fabricated,” the statement underlined.
According to the Foxnews story, Pakistan comes at No. 2 in using word “optical fiber” but, the ISPAK statement explained, “Not many Internet users even know what fiber optic means and have little interest in it.”
Do people actually BELIEVE that Pakistanis will look for terms like “horse sex” and “donkey sex”?
Isn’t this argument alone enough to repudiate this propaganda against Pakistan?
Google Trends shows that no.1 Pakistan is pretty close to no. 2 Vietnam in search of word “sex”.
But right next to it, in the top 10 cities column for the same term, neither any city from Pakistan nor from Vietnam appears, even though internet is available mostly in Pakistani cities.
Lastly, if I interpret the results correctly, the third column is for languages which were used for this term. If Pakistan is no. 1 in searching the word “sex” then English should have been in at least top 5 languages (since Pakistanis would use English), but in fact it is at no. 9.
But unfortunately Pakistan is being maligned all around the world due to this fake manipulated news. Today one of my Chinese colleague was telling me about it.
Do the search “Pakistan”, and in first column for countries Pakistan is no. 1, and in second column for cities most cities are Pakistani cities. It makes sense.
Similarly,
Do the search for “India”. In first column, India is no. 1; in second column are mostly Indian cities. Makes sense.
Do the search for “America”. In first column, USA is no.1; in second column are mostly American cities. Makes sense.
Do the search for let’s say “suicide”. In first column, America is no. 1; in second column are mostly American cities. Makes sense.
Do the search for “table”. In first column, India is no. 1; in second column there are Indian cities. Makes sense.
BUT
Do the search for “sex”. In first column, Pakistan is no. 1; in second column THERE IS NO PAKISTANI CITY. Makes absolutely NO sense.
That ‘truth’ which you want pakistanis to admit (that all of them search for animal sex) is no truth at al. It is a fabricated lie just like so many other ones about pakistanis. These statistics are not correct and very misleading indeed.** We’ve done detailed traffic analysis today** and tried various models on Google Trends
and Google Insights.** Pornographic webs sites hardly count for any traffic in forty top most accessed sites from Pakistan**.

The bottom line is that these figures are not correct and grossly messed up.
There’s some strange algorithm being carried out at Google and they’re not doing the geographical identification correctly based on the IP address.
I’ve spoken to Badar Khushnood, Google’s Country Manager for Pakistan and even he didn’t have explanation for some of the questions that we had.

We’d be doing a press conference tomorrow, Friday, from the Internet Industry at 3:00 pm, our (Micronet/Nayatel) Blue Area Office (GD Arcade), Islamabad and would demonstrate all the facts in front of the media using Google Insight and Google Trends. It’s shame that Government of Pakistan is sleeping on this incident, no official version has yet come out. Embassy of Pakistan in Washington DC also made no comments to Foxnews when they contacted them.** The story calls Pakistan as “Pornistan” and Foxnews just done a vulgar talk show on this subjec**t. Ministry of IT, PTA, Ministry of Information, all paid from our (tax payers) money are busy in foreign tours, meetings and flashing media projections. The public and civil

Unless Jang is also owned by jews or indians, I am not sure what else to say. I did not create the news, I merely posted the link and felt embarrassed about that so expressed my embarrassment on a pakistani website hoping that we can take some part of this news as a fact and try to discuss how can we fix thing.
