Pakistan; one of the most dangerous places on earth!

Re: Pakistan; one of the most dangerous places on earth!

Safety in any society/country is determined by grass root law and order....how safe is a foreigner in that country if he/she travels alone in that society irrespective of his skin color, religion , nationality and sex.....

If you are a sunni/shia muslim, Pakistan is a very safe country for you....

Pakistan can be dangerous if you are a non-muslim (buddhist, jewish, may be hindu/sikh)....or from west.

There are too many non-state actors trying to push their agenda and implementing their own law, that makes Pakistan dangerous for white skinned and non-muslims.

Really...huh???

How many foreigners or westerners were abducted during past 62 years... the number will not even reach 10... while in some other countries including India the number will be in thousands.

The difference is people do not want to be killed by religious nut cases like Daniel Pearl was murdered... they don't mind if a street mugger kills them for the money in the pocket...!!!

Re: Pakistan; one of the most dangerous places on earth!

^ why dont u just ban him or award him infractions instead of giving justifications for making baseless accusations.

Re: Pakistan; one of the most dangerous places on earth!

Anything new? Pakistan is as dangerous a place as any developing country.
But Western media already started calling Pakistan one of the most dangerous countries much before the suicide attacks started. Why are we not surprised?

Re: Pakistan; one of the most dangerous places on earth!

Pakistan is not a dangerous place. It is happening due to uncalled foreign intervention.

Re: Pakistan; one of the most dangerous places on earth!

Pakistan is not a dagerous country

its a safe heaven for

corrupt political and religious leaders
barberian Talibans
Thugs
Killers
brive business
Choudhries, Sardars, Wadere.

for me its started from Airport whenever I enter in Pakistan, you have to be checked by atleast 3 time for immigration clearance, wow I am goin to enter in a war zone. I have to be advised from my relatives NOT to go alone no where, NOT allowed to take any type of new mobile, They give me an oldest one to carry out for communication. Come back home right after sun down... do not try to visit any place where a lot of peoples gathered.

I also advised if some where u stoped by police or rangers SMILE on your face with SIR, YES SIR, NO SIR no further comments and show them your IDs.if there bellys full your might be alright:D: Pakistan is safe for westerners becoz its hardly to find em there but not safe for pakistanies in various conditions.

But I love Pakistan and always prayers for its stabality and peace there

i tend to agree with this, the situation for other religions is quiet a bad in villages & far away area's.

Now replace Pakistan with another developing country, say, with india and see if you find the same things with different names over there or not.

Whole of Pakistan is not owned by waderas, sardars and chaudrees...Pakistan is a developing country, with intelligent individuals as its inhabitants who just need some proper direction, not one big "gown". And thugs are everywhere, not something indigenous to Pakistan only.

Your relatives tell you these things because people here are very hospitable here, cell phones can get snatched anywhere, they wouldn't want this to happen to you while you are their guest. And rangers?... ye konsay ilaqay main chalay gaye thay ap Pakistan k?

All the things you mentioned are common in many countries, it's about time we start focusing more on the goods and less on the bads.

:k:

Pakistan has always been great hosts to foreigners. We are not talking of past 62 years, we are talking of present Pakistan..

Certain parts of Pakistan can be dangerous for outsiders, because of religious nut cases. Any outsider can be held as an amreeki or israeli agent, because of the religious nut cases who care a damn about the law of the land.

Westerners walk in markets of old delhi and new delhi without any escort in western attire....
same goes for mumbai or any place of India

Around 20,000 jewish tourists from Israel visit India every year, they roam around freely.....They have no fear of getting kidnapped by muslims of India...

So can buddhist monks, jain sadhus, or people of Zaorashtrians religions or Bahai faith.....

In present pakistan, there are too many non state actors/tanzeems, who dont care about the law and connstitution of Pakistan, as every non-muslim for them is enemy of Islam. They dont see outsiders as humans, but they see them as muslims or non muslims.

Here is an example, film board of Pakistan has not allowed movie "Tere Bin laden" starring Ali Zafar, to be released in pakistan, fearing suicide attack of religious nut cases.......law of the land allows them to release the movie, but they are not doing so coz of danger non state actors/tanzeems.

Re: Pakistan; one of the most dangerous places on earth!

^^ Please don't start me on india. I respect your emotional attachment to your country, but to say that minorities are living in India without any fear of persecution or intimidation by extremist Hindus is absolute trash. Sorry.

We both know it.

Re: Pakistan; one of the most dangerous places on earth!

Spoken like a man. :k:

I respect you for respecting me.

Yes, minorities can live without fear just like Dr. Zakir Naik lives withour fear in mumbai, India.

If people give mutual respect to each others religion, then its possible.

Dr. Zakir Naik conducts his meetings in mumbai, thousands come to his seminar in mumbai....Mumbai is home of Bal Thakray and Shiv Sena.

Re: Pakistan; one of the most dangerous places on earth!

^^ If Zakir lives without fear, it is perhaps because he is a fearless preacher.

Extermists like Bal Thakray, Baj rang daal and co. would send him 6-ft down yesterday already, if they got their chance.

Lets face it bro, both Pakistan and India just like many other countries have a lot of problems. Mis-treating minorities is one of those.

Hopefully, it will get better in foreseeable future though.

He is fearless preacher, because he preaches mutual respect of other religions as well.

Personally I dont follow him but, the day Naik talks of waging war etc etc against non muslims, trust me , Bal Thakray will get his chance.

Future is bright, people are getting educated.

An educated man is never fearful or at a mercy of an theoretical jahil mullah or pandit.

I don't follow dr. zakir naiks debates either but have listened to a few in which he was ridiculing Christianity and making jokes about their beliefs to the max...but thats another topic.

HAHAHAHAHAHHA I really have to laugh on this :D

Do you know the name Gurunanak Pura? :D if yes then explain a bit :D

I mean just saying it like a random guess while sitting in NYC from your birth wont make you even able to think what actually Pakistan has. :D

Okay your point noted and accepted that Indian commit less crimes for religious motivations. Pakistan has some religious fanatics (more than India)... I am not arguing on these grounds.

May be you have not been to Pakistan so you don't know what a general street scene is here. A lot of your knowledge comes from hearsay from people whose satisfaction of life depends on how bad Pakistan is..

I am a frequent visitor to India and I live in the heart of Pakistan (Lahore)... I know exactly what I am talking about from my first hand experience.

The general crime in India is much higher than in Pakistan... Apart from religious terrorism the general street crime in Pakistan is not even a fraction compared to India.. I am not trying to undermine India but the reality is that a foreigner in India is much more likely to be a victim of a crime than a foreigner in Pakistan...

Pakistan for a middle income country has one of the lowest crime rate in the world... a fact which is not frequently highlighted in western or world media.

I know dozens of Western gora families first hand living in Lahore... from School teachers to several technicians/executives. All of them chose to live in Pakistan themselves and a vast majority of them are very happy living here. Almost all of them agree that living experience is very different from the perception they hear about pakistan. None of the 100 or so families I know personally from abroad have ever been subject to any serious crime... and I am talking present day Pakistan...!!!

Why should I ban him when I can easily refute his false claims with facts...

In any case moderation is entirely different from my personal dialogue and opinions... as long as someone is polite and making his argument without crossing the lines i.e. hate talk, supporting terrorist, supporting anti Pakistan stands etc etc... I would give people maximum freedom of speech in this forum...!!!

I can speak on behalf of all my fellow moderators that when we are doing this job we keep our personal biases aside and try to follow the policy and rules of the forum as best as we can.. and try to keep this forum as decent as possible..
