Re: Pakistan on brink of civil war
what civil war! there is NO threat. what ever is going on there is just an angry reaction to yesterday's event. there are NO clashes among different communities there, hence there is NO threat of civil war.
Re: Pakistan on brink of civil war
Right now, situation is under control, i believe rangers can handle it easily. Still we have backup as strong army. But the things which i am worrying are.
Prices are going up at 100miles speed, shortage of everything. Petroleum reserves are also left for few days. Anarchy is almost everywhere in Pakistan. Atleast its crossing red line in sindh & nwfp. Americans can go for adventure against our nuclear assets. Red alert on borders with India (why???)
I talk with alot of people in Pakistan, they says they never saw situation this bad in the history of Pakistan. May ALLAH save us. Just pray, and show unity. If even someone slap you, take it for Pakistan. Lets pass this time with courage.
Welcome to Army rule

There was also widespread expectation that Ms Bhutto's Pakistan People's Party would join the boycott, though some among its shattered leadership were said to believe that the "martyr effect" might sweep the party to power if the election goes ahead.
[/QUOTE]
given the fact thay, PPP was not one of the most Fav. parties in the up coming elections and emotional nature of Pakistani people,
it is possible that the party leaders and Mush ( who badly need a reputable party to support him for next 5 years) had done something here to create the sympathy and sweep the elections. because more or less, nor Musharaf niether PPP has shown any intentions to bring the deposed Judiciary( biggest threat to MUSHy and BB) into effect.??
The dead body of BB can encash more votes for PPP ( if they remain united) than the alive BB might have secured.
Re: Pakistan on brink of civil war
Well I suppose these sort of articles are very disturbing. People who are living in Pak see the situation quite different. There will be no civil war. I can promise that.
Ali, are you speaking to Pakistanis across Pakistan? Are you seeing things first hand?
I hope your right though.
Re: Pakistan on brink of civil war
theres TOO many people reading newspapers, watching TV channels but they are giving a very distortionate view of what is going on. i have spoken to friends in a number of areas and believe me because i believed them, that violence is not occuring all over pakistan but pockets in some areas. the worst of it will be over this weekend INSHA ALLAH! people cant riot forever - the get tired!

Pakpatriot, I can only state what I"m seeing here in Lahore. I cant judge the situation in Karachi. But news is no good about Karachi, though! Pray just praY!
Re: Pakistan on brink of civil war
I’ll be damned if i hear ‘But the GDP has had a tremendous growth despite the recent events’ and that ‘Cellular usage has increased which means progress’ ![]()
Re: Pakistan on brink of civil war
Faisalabad and gujanwala is good too.
Karachi every one is scared. I just spoke to my cousins there. They are staying home.

Re: Pakistan on brink of civil war
Sindh is mainly impacted. If PPP wishes for confrontation with the govt, we may well be seein g a civil war like situation.
Re: Pakistan on brink of civil war
^ how about PIA? any flights going out side of sindh.
Re: Pakistan on brink of civil war
Reza, Insha'Allah!!! May Allah help Pakistan!
Re: Pakistan on brink of civil war
If PPP supporters really want to express their anger through violence, they should head to Wazirastan and make their violence count too!
Re: Pakistan on brink of civil war

I agree with this suggestion.....why kill and loot innocent people in the city...
Re: Pakistan on brink of civil war
^I assume no innocent people live in Waziristan???
oh wait we have all ready killed them by our gunships.
Re: Pakistan on brink of civil war
Can we put another, even more over-dramatizing topic for this thread?
C'mon guys, please show some maturity and analyze the situation objectively. We dont have to quote the western press which has very clear ambitions and strikingly similar tone all over the western countries. Does it surprise you? Look at the owners of all the big media in western countries, it speaks a volume about why they are at it.
We have passed through much worse crises than this one, IA we'll ride this storm as well. Torching ambulances, hospitals, schools... now tell me which of a sane PPP follower can do this? We need to see and identify those culprits and punish them hard, there is no excuse whatsoever for burning hospitals and ambulances.
I bet in two weeks time, the dust will settle and life moves on IA. We Pakistanis are very very resilient people.
At the end, I just want to humbly request you not to follow those Pakistani sensationalist journalists - who BTW are a joke on journalism anyway. Watching them makes me wonder where did they study journalism anyway?
It looks as if every body with few billion Rs in pocket has opened a news channel and has recruited any Maja Gama Phajja who claims to be a journalist. Pathetic!
While the journalists in western countries try to mild everything which might threaten their nation security, our journalists on the contrary over dramatize everything that may endanger their national security. Again... Pathetic!
