ISLAMBAD: The chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen Saturday said he is confidant about the security and safety of the nuclear assets in Pakistan and no extremist or terrorist can access them.
Addressing a news conference here, Admiral Mullen said both US and Pakistan have been victims of terrorism and that Pakistan has offered a number of sacrifices to combat this menace. He reiterated the commitment that US and Pakistan will together fight the battle against terrorism.
“Pakistan is a sovereign state and the US recognizes the importance of its protection,” he stressed. “The tribal areas of Pakistan were safe havens for some extremist elements but the crack down on them has made a significant headway particularly after the launch of military operation against them by Pakistan armed forces,” Admiral Mike Mullen said. He said the US had made an offer to Pakistan for training its security personnel and those associated with the law enforcing agencies with an aim to fight this war in a more effective manner.
“Pakistan is a front line ally in war on terror and the US will never consider conducting unilateral strikes within Pakistan,” he clarified. He said the US gave Pakistan five billion dollars in aid after 2001 and “we are satisfied with the way it was utilized.” To a question he said he has not discussed Pakistan’s political situation with its leadership but the US is hopeful that the upcoming polls in the country will be free, fair and transparent.
Is that why all the major political parties taking part in the elections. :)
Taht is why all the parties are saying that the elections will be rigged,. Not only them most observers and world media are saying the same thing. Why? Because they know Mush and his illegal ways. The guy is a disgrace to Pakistan and the world as a whole.

LOL. The only reason all the major parties are taking part is because they believe the elections will not be rigged. They would have otherwise boycotted the elections. :)
God bless the continuation of democratic process in Pakistan. :)

I think you got a point and a good one too.... Mashallah :)
As I said before if you say it enough time it might begin to sound credible. For the moment the whole world knows both Mush’s and his sham elections credibility is zero.

LOL. So, the non-democratic parties, that do not use democratic means to elect their party leaders, are taking part in the democratic process, even when they believe the elections will be rigged, rather than boycotting the elections. Excellent. :)
