Re: Pakistan no better off under Woolmer
This article is very much biased and the author hardly understands Pakistani cricket otherwise he wouldn't come up with such baseless piece. Our ODI is undoubtedly one of the BEST in the world right now and it will surely improve it's ranking even further.
Our TEST team has been a joke but you can hardly blame Woolmer for that, we have had a medicore TEST team for about 10-12 years now and we mostly relied on Wasim, Waqar and Saqlain to win TEST matches for us and once they all departed and Saqlain lost it's touch we crumbled.
One area where Woolmer is wrong is the extensive use of all rounders in Test team. I don't really see a reason to play Razzaq, Afridi and Malik in a TEST team. We can afford to play only 1 at most and Afridi for time being looks the automatic choice but he has a LOT to prove.
Re: Pakistan no better off under Woolmer
TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU AND YOU DO UNDERSTAND THE GAME OF CRICKET.

Re: Pakistan no better off under Woolmer
Razzaq along with Kamran Akmal saved us from a humiliating defeat agaisnt India in the first test which was not too long ago. There are plenty of these guys that havent yet had a chance to prove themselves on test lvel. Rana have played a lot of ODI’s but only a handful of tests. Give him a little more time. Sami has the potential but his luck evades him all the time (not just in tests but ODI’s as well) Misbah-ul-Haq has been in and out of the time and will need to work very hard to break into a solid middle order. Shoaib Malik has played 9 tests !!! He averages a decent 37 in them along with picking up 9 wickets. Shabir Ahmed has also played 9 test and has taken 46 wickets at an average of 23.82. What else do you want from him ? These guy have played very little Test cricket and will take a little time before they make an impact.
Re: Pakistan no better off under Woolmer
well... bob woolmer is very less paid as compare to other coaches
e.g G.Chappel
bob is one of the qualified coaches nowadays...
he can only coach our player... he can;t play himself...
Bob : -
In 1968 I took my junior certificate with the then MCC coaching course under
Harry Crabtree, in 1969 I took my advanced course, I have then done levels 4, 3
& 2 in South African Hockey , I ran and set the Level 4 course in SA in 1996/97.
I did the FA level 2 soccer course in teh UK at Crystal Palace in 1969.
But I guess the greatest university of cricket has been playing and coaching
(all age groups from 1970 to the present 2005!
I have also sat in on Psychology courses (3) and been present at the World
Science of cricket seminars at the last two world cups 1999 and 2003 where I was
asked to make a presentation on technology and the coach.

Afridi is promoted to the highest category by PCB, yestarday. Now he stands with players like Inzamam and Shoaib. He will get the maximum benefits offered by PCB to a player.
Youis Khan is also promoted.
