Pakistan New Zealand Tour in 2010 Winter

Well the team will be struggling in NZ without the pace of Aamir and Swing of Asif…
but since they are both headed for British prisons along with SALMON BUTTT…its better to forget them! :smokin:

I think the team is announced today - Kamran has been left out and Afridi and Misbah retain their captaincy

Pakistan squad named for New Zealand tour

Updated at: 1845 PST, Tuesday, November 30, 2010

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board has announced the national squad for the tour of New Zealand here on Tuesday.

Misbah-ul-Haq and Shahid Afridi have been retained as captains for Test and Twenty20 teams, respectively.

T20 squad includes Mohammad Hafeez, Ahmed Shahzad, Younis Khan, Umar Akmal, Fawad Alam, Adnan Akmal, Saeed Ajmal, Abdul Rehman, Abdul Razzaq, Umar Gul, Shoaib Akhtar, Tanveer Ahmed, Sohail Tanveer and Wahab Riaz.

The PCB has said that Wahab Riaz’s includion in the team depends on his fitness.

Test squad will comprise of Mohammad Hafeez, Taufiq Umar, Younis Khan, Azhar Ali, Asad Shafiq, Umar Akmal, Adnan Akmal, Saeed Ajmal, Abdul Rehman, Umar Gul, Tanveer Ahmed, Sohail Tanveer and Wahab Riaz.

Sohail Tanveer has made comeback in the national team while Mohammad Yousuf and Imran Farhat have been dropped.

So MoYo dropped - definitely an issue with him playing alongside Younis...:hmmm:
Pakistan team infighting and prior issue of MoYo taking oath against YK is echoing .....

and good to see Damad dropped finally....
Is PCB becoming unbiased

Wahab is still unfit? hmmm...

Re: Pakistan New Zealand Tour in 2010 Winter

Glad to see Imran Farhat dropped. Yousuf has let himself down really by his lack of fitness. So good decisions there by the selectors.

Re: Pakistan New Zealand Tour in 2010 Winter

Well if the spot fixing SAGA actually shows "who did it" then even Wahab may be dropped under the guise of "fitness". Umar will most likely be dropped and not play due to "form" and MoYo may be recalled to the tour later....

Re: Pakistan New Zealand Tour in 2010 Winter

Good squad, but bowling attack is pretty ordinary. still in the absence of both Aamir and Asif that is the best we had.

Something is still stopping kamran's selection.

Good to see damad gone.

Re: Pakistan New Zealand Tour in 2010 Winter

Kamran said he has been cleared by ICC

now whats the problem with PCB now :aj:

Re: Pakistan New Zealand Tour in 2010 Winter

All Akmals should be out of the team. Period. Both senior Akmals record dodgy and shaded. Sudden inclusion of another Junior Akmal in the team was surprise to me as well, when we had another keeper in the team in form of Sarfaraz.

Bowling looks weak, but this is what we have got.

Shame on all the cheaters.

Re: Pakistan New Zealand Tour in 2010 Winter

well center pin MoYo is missing..

Kammy and umar both need to be benched.

But I was suspecting that UMAR would be included under wishful thinking that he will repeat his form in Kiwi land like the last tour...

Not so fast ehsan bhai!
I'm so glade to see "Sohail Tanvir" back into the squad. Now 'Two' Tanvirs would be better than one surely, and Gulli with Razak are pretty good gel
As usual its the betting which is still settling down to some level IMO

The problem is with the bowlers !
For each dropped catch and stumping chance they not only have to re-bowl but also face spot-fixing allegation later on!

Re: Pakistan New Zealand Tour in 2010 Winter

what the hell is Younis doing in the T20 squad?????????????

Re: Pakistan New Zealand Tour in 2010 Winter

Brilliant IGAAAAAAAAAAAAZ BUTT's run puppet Selection committee....its like a *BIZZARO Uncle Sargam and hega, and maasi museebtay outfit

Re: Pakistan New Zealand Tour in 2010 Winter

Afridi not happy.....I think he may not even be leading Pakistan ODI team for World cup...that's my gut feeling only....that is why he is being so OUTSPOKEN against selection matters.

Afridi wants Akmal, Malik in team
AP

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan limited-overs captain Shahid Afridi wishes senior players Shoaib Malik and wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal were in the team for the tour of New Zealand.

The selectors have ignored Malik and Akmal for next month’s three Twenty20s and two tests against New Zealand. The squad for six one-day internationals against the Black Caps will be named later.

”They (Malik and Akmal) are requirements of the team,” Afridi said on Friday in the southern port city of Karachi. ”I think you (reporters) should ask the Pakistan Cricket Board and the selection committee what’s the problem in the selection of Shoaib Malik and Kamran Akmal.”

Malik’s exclusion from the tour has surprised because of his impressive form in the domestic first-class competition.

Malik was also not named in the match-fixing or spot-fixing controversy that marred Pakistan’s tour of England.

Three Pakistan cricketers are under suspension and four more were named in a video obtained and aired by Geo television on Tuesday, when players’ agent Mazhar Majeed fingered Akmal.

Akmal averages more than 27 in 123 ODIs since 2002, but his glovework hasn’t been as good as his batting.

Malik, who also played in the 2007 World Cup, was dropped for the recent series against South Africa in the United Arab Emirates, and Afridi said it was due more to the allrounder’s poor form.

”Malik has always been good,” Afridi said. ”If he was dropped it doesn’t mean he was out of the national team forever.

”When a player stays away from international cricket for one or two series, it gives him good time to think about and realize his mistakes.”

After Pakistan lost the Twenty20 and one-day series to South Africa in the UAE, Afridi said he needed experienced players for next year’s World Cup.

”You can’t take a new team to the World Cup,” he said. ”I know there’s not much expectations from our team, but I will continue to motivate my players.”

Afridi said he wanted the pool of Pakistan’s World Cup players to be finalized as soon as possible so that he could have a fair idea about the composition of the team.

”I know it’s difficult (World Cup), but I am positive that we could do well.”

Drama by Ilayas Sahib… I am sure he is going to get Damad in the World Cup team…

Susar resigned coz farhat was left out of the team amazing :k:

Re: Pakistan New Zealand Tour in 2010 Winter

Pathetic state of our cricket continues, susar pressurising PCB to get his SIL in, ch chairman caving in. I am sure some player will get "injured" and Farhat will be recalled or added to the squad one day or the other.

Re: Pakistan New Zealand Tour in 2010 Winter

what sorry state our cricket has actually reached. Kaptaan jee is fighting for a dramay baaz, baykaar and Juwaree senior Akmal.

Re: Pakistan New Zealand Tour in 2010 Winter

I think Afridi does not believe that Kamran is doing anything negative in ODIs and T20 and he wants him as a opener to hit out the first few overs. It could be a political ploy to fizz out attention of bookies from Pakistan thinking that the board will not change their decision any way and this way the bookies will bet against Pakistan knowing they are without Key players. So all in all any win will be a BIG upset in the bookie circles. Just a theory though :D
