Our Cobra Gunships don't even have Night Vision Capability
The pilots have to wear night vision goggles to fly at night
This is ridicilous.
We need to increase our Attack Helicopter Fleet to atleast 80-100
We are waging a War on Terrorism on our long Western border with Afghanistan. We have lost over 1000+ Soldiers in the fight where as NATO has lost around 100+
And that is because they deploy attack helicopter which deliver devastating volley of fire and where as we don't have such capability.
Our Generals are millionaires and live in luxury and have civil servants that accompany them all paid for by the government.
We could end this corruption in the Military, atleast 40% of our budget can be saved.
We can then use that 40% and spend it on other weaponry instead of filling up the coffers of Generals
Well, yes, that would be great. We can utilize our resources in a much better way. I remember somebody saying "Pakistan doesnt have a poor economy, it has a POORLY MANAGED economy".
Those Gunships are the primary firepower that has been deployed against Taliban and Al-Qaeda and Balochi Terrorists. It has worked very well but the severe shortage of these Gunships prevent them from being deployed in a more forceful way.
In other words there are not enough attack helicopters to cover the entire rugged terrain and when our Army moves in, we suffer heavy losses.
Helicopter Gunships can saturate an entire area with heavy fire and then our forces can move in to do mop up operations.
Pakistan should ask USA for atleast 100 AH-64D Apache Gunships and Upgrade Kits for its aging fleet of Cobra Gunships.
Pakistan should stop concentrating solely on F-16 and spend money on other areas such as Attack Helicopters.
wow!!! Mercenary i am really begining to doubt your motives on this forum!
its like you are seriously out to destroy Muslims at large!
I think Pakistan would be a dumbass nation if it buys any weapons from the US! attack heli's included b/c then all we are doing is funding the millitary industrial complex which turn uses our money's to fund Israel's occupation of Palestine, and promotes the occupation and general harasment of Muslims in the middle-east. Its like we are paying them to continue to kill us, or let us kill each other!
its such a huge bussiness..the millitary industrail complex, bigger then the oil bussiness. It was one of the reasons why the Irani revolution was so offensive to the US, and it was perhaps in my opinion also the reason why Iraq's former tyrant was created to keep the Islamic revolution from spreading!
Merc man who the heck are you!!!?!!!
devil in a red dress!
Stop trying to F'up the world!!! stop pushing war and bigotry! even though it apears its very profitable for some, what we ultimately loose - peace, depleting our natural resources for crap! that we can not recycle nor use except to kill each other!
ts gonna be an f'd up world for all of us including hte most powerful the most tyranical and the most bigoted ones. i have been reading your posts...they definetely have got a sinister agenda no doubt.

*Since we are doing the dirty jobs for the Americans, they should supply some half decent helicopters too. I believe this is a classic example of poor negotiating skills and being short sold to the U.S. *
All I asked for was proof to his claim that 'high-ranking military officials live excessive luxurious lives, all at the expense of the government'. Prove to me that it all comes from the government and not partly from the military's own revenues, or out of the persons' own personal pocket.
From what I know, some of the military is also affiliated with the private-sector companies, and some of these generals own or have big shares/investments in the property business. So, prove to me that their excessive luxurious life comes all at the expense of the government, and not from any of their personal revenues.
^^ Dhruv is not an attack helicopter. None of the helicopters (in the above links) are attack helicopters.
The 'Cheetah' and 'Chetak' helicopters (in the second link) are French helicopters which were manufactured in India. India did not develop either of these.
J-4042, and other IAF Dhruvs, can carry a 20mm gun plus eight anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) or four air-to-air missiles or four 68mm rocket pods on outriggers.
