Pakistan on Sunday announced two different squads for the Twenty20 matches and Tests on their tour of England.

Pakistan will play two Twenty20 internationals against Australia on July 5 and 6 before playing two Tests against the same opponents.

After playing Australia, Pakistan will feature in four Tests, two Twenty20 and five one-day games against England. The tour ends on September 22.

The squad for the one-dayers against England will be announced later.

The notable inclusion in the test side is that of Yasir Hameed brought in to replace former captain Younis Khan.

The 32-year-old Hameed has played 23 tests, but his last came against India in Dec. 2007.

The selectors opted against bringing the experienced Younis back into the squad for the twin test series, even though the Pakistan Cricket Board earlier this month lifted his indefinite ban.

We knew this was gonna happen with the recent news in the media that they are thinking of new allegations against Younus Khan. So the guy who is in England playing for Surrey and getting used to the English conditions and getting runs there, which would have only been so useful to the team, has been excluded. This is because of personal agendas against Younus Khan. Of course, what else could explain this even after both Shahid Afridi (who wanted YK to be his deputy) and Mohsin Khan both said they'll want to include him for the 6 tests in England. So another whitewash can be expected...specially this England team is getting better and better under Strauss.

How can anyone justify Shoaib Malik in test teams and not Younus Khan. That is just non-nonsensical and purely non-cricketing selection.

The only specialist middle order bats in the test team are Umar Amin and Umar Akmal?

Stupid selection following an equally stupid selection of Afridi as a test captain. How can they have a balanced 11 with Afridi in the team?

Mohsin Khan and Co will probably play Butt,Farhat,Malik,Akmal,Amin,Afridi,Akmal,Aamir,Asif,Gul,Kaneria as their 11....that leaves an already brittle batting line up even more exposed.

Malik is not test material...nor is Afrifdi himself...Umar Akmal and Umar Amin are still new to test cricket...Farhat is useless...and even though Butt and Kamran Akmal are getting runs these days, to expect them to carry the batting line up is asking for a miracle.

The smart thing would have been to have Younis Khan back and make him the Captain too for the test team....but being smart is asking too much from Ijaz Butt.

Be prepared for another whitewash coming up.

Younis didn't bow down to king butt and ask for his clemency as a result he didn't get selected. It would be interesting too see what younis can do from this point onwards. He should take both Yawar and Ijaz butt to the court. They are doing injustice to him especially when he was cleared from all the allegations.

I can't understand why Alam is excluded from the squad? I thought it was obvious from this tournament that we needed a player like Alam who can rotate the strike efficiently without taking much chances. didn't he score 50 against the Aussies in Aus in his last ODI? If not twenty 20, then he is more suited for 50 overs and Test formats. He is one of the few batsmen who has a very solid technique.
Shoaib Malik for test? ..and Yasir hameed??? might as well throw in Wajahatul Wasti..I'm going crazy!

Why Umar Amin is there ? Why they are not giving chances to Hammad Azam ?

These kind of selection policies is what makes the morale and temprament of these youngers cricketers go down from this early stage in their careers. First you take Fawad Alam on all tours for like 2 years and doesnt play much. And now Umar Amin jumps ahead of him. Bringing back Yasir Hameed is sorta consolation for not bringing back YK because they knew their batting is brittle. but what has Yasir Hameed done in Domestic cricket, that we are bringing him back? He might be a little more experienced so does that mean we can also bring back Hasan Raza & Mohammad Wasim? Glad to see Faisal Iqbal not selected. We saw that he was clueless in NZ & Australia. But I think at least continue with Fawad Alam in the middle order. Farhat is a waste of an opener and I guess as long as Susar Ji is selector, he will make it to some of the teams. Glad Farhat is not part of T20 team.

Useless team selection, no balance. No real batsmen to solidfy the batting on the seaming pitches of England. YK is playing in England, should have been added but due to personal agendas against him he doesnt get selected.

Another Whitewash in store.
