Pakistan, Malaysia builds optical-fiber backbone to link 77 cities
Islamabad, June 27, SPA – Pakistan has started construction of 4,500 kilometer long optical fiber link from Karachi to up-country in collaboration with Malaysia. It is aimed at improving quality of telecommunication services at lower rates, according to an official statement. The National Optic Fiber Backbone worth $100 million would link 77 cities Pakistan in two phases.
After completion of the project the quality of voice would be improved that too at lower rates. The project would be completed in 14 months. As many as 27 cities would be inter-linked in the first phase, while 50 cities would be linked in the second phase of the project
