Pakistan lodge Inzamam complaint

Pakistan have complained to cricket’s governing body after Inzamam-ul-Haq was controversially run out in Faisalabad.
According to the rules, Inzamam should not have been given out when England’s Steve Harmison hit the stumps because he was taking evasive action.

Coach Bob Woolmer immediately wrote to match referee Roshan Mahanama.

And Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Shaharyar Khan phoned International Cricket Council president Ehsan Mani to voice despleasure over the incident.

A statement from the PCB read: "The PCB conveyed its concern to the ICC regarding the apparently unlawful dismissal of Inzamam-ul-Haq.

"Abbas Zaidi, director of board operations, referred to ICC law 38 which states ‘a batsman is not out run out if he has been within his ground and has subsequently left it to avoid injury’.

“It is evident that Inzamam took evasive action to avoid injury and according to the laws should not have been given out.”

The batsman himself refused to criticise the decision, but said he “was surprised”.

“It’s difficult for me to say anything, I can’t challenge the umpire’s decision but the rules say something different,” Inzamam, who made 109, explained.

“I was trying to avoid the ball and in the rule book that’s not out.”

Re: Pakistan lodge Inzamam complaint

finally

Re: Pakistan lodge Inzamam complaint

they also shall complaint about Bell's catch ...... atleast show some backbone PCB

Re: Pakistan lodge Inzamam complaint

Good. :k:

Re: Pakistan lodge Inzamam complaint

and at the end nothing will come out of it....

Re: Pakistan lodge Inzamam complaint

^ Exactly, what does PCB expect will happen, Inzi gets 2 chances next innings to compensate? The real matter to complain about are these dubious catches.

Re: Pakistan lodge Inzamam complaint

whats the use? will the runout be reversed? what action will be taken against whom?

Re: Pakistan lodge Inzamam complaint

It goes against the umpires. Now a days the umpires are evaluated and their ratings are affected. So it will have an impact. Also the incident highlighted will make the other umpires more careful when such a situation arises again.

Re: Pakistan lodge Inzamam complaint

Hmm interesting to know what umpire will get a bigger shaft. The elite on field umpires for wrongly referring this to the 3rd umpire, or the 3rd umpire for making an incompetent decision.

Personally i think this should have never come to the 3rd umpire, therefore the onfield umpires should be discliplined more.

Sincerely,
Captain Lota

Re: Pakistan lodge Inzamam complaint

the umpires should be whipped. Nice to see PCB taking a stand...

Re: Pakistan lodge Inzamam complaint

Still no mention of Ian Bell's unfair claim of a floored catch?

Re: Pakistan lodge Inzamam complaint

This will only create hurdles for Simon Taufel from winning the best umpire award for the coming season. What the use for us? They should stop playing graciuos hosts and should report Bell's incident as they have decided against it for the sake of good spirit between the sides.

Re: Pakistan lodge Inzamam complaint

thats enuff … atleast a better candidate will win the umpire award..

the ignorance by the umpires was truly disgusting.. they should pay a lot more for that… ICC must not down play this incident… misjudgements on the field is one thing but when you simply don’t care to respect the rules of the game, you can’t expect any awards… the umpires didn’t even admit their mistake or apologize to inzi… poor class shown by all of the umpires

Re: Pakistan lodge Inzamam complaint

Yes...lodge complains about all unjustified decisions...

Re: Pakistan lodge Inzamam complaint

Is this a Cricket Series...or a Complains vs Counter Complains contest ?

Re: Pakistan lodge Inzamam complaint

tum logo ki aukat or niyyat kabhi bhi nai badlegi!

Re: Pakistan lodge Inzamam complaint

:k: good but I’ll be more happy if they file complain against BELL. Inzi can not bat twice in 2nd inning but we can get UK’s batsman in form, out of next game…as he deserves!

Re: Pakistan lodge Inzamam complaint

Jazba bhai, any word on if we will be lodging complaints for the 2 catches they claimed that cleary bounced on the floor?
Last I heard Rashid Latif got a 5 match ban for that. England should lose Trescothick and Bell for the same amount of time.

Re: Pakistan lodge Inzamam complaint

I don’t think PCB will. They don’t have the balls to do that. Sheheryar Khan will be too worried that the relationships between the 2 teams/boards/conutries will be affected.
No doubt that inzi’s dismissal was most controversial among all 3 dismissals but we know thats not the reason why they have lodged the complaint for that particular dismissal. Its because this controversy is involving the umpires and not the english players unlike other 2 dismissals where actually an english player could be on the receiving end. In this way PCB will still be in the good books of ECB.
I know afridi did something very wrong and still can’t figure out why did he do that infront of the worldwide audience. But manhoos Ian Bell getting away with his action is now making me mad. I was thinking of putting him in my hate list in “**cricketers guppies hate the most” **thread, now I think I should better do it.
F*ck you all ICC, ECB, PCB, and Ian Bell:mad:

Re: Pakistan lodge Inzamam complaint

double post:

n e way sharyar khan is a "diplomat" i think we need some1 like yes im saying it Aamir Sohail and his arrogance- naa lets not get carried away but i do think if ur gonna lodge complaint against that do it against bell too, so umpires can really take heat along wth bell!
