yes they are. They are very much suitable for Pakisan’s environment as Pakistan was once part of India. And please don’t underestimate India. India is far far advance than Pakistan now. For your information once upon a time ALU18 was caught from Indian border in 1965 war, it ran thoushands of frieght frieght trains in Pakistan:), so quality is not a problem. Morevoer ALCO was and perhaps still manufactured by Indians under ALCO American license for many years. This locomitive technology is still the best and suitable for PR as all maintenance facilities and staff are well trainded on these kinds of locomotives.
