Left-arm spinner Abdur Rehman and batsman Nasir Jamshed have been left out of Pakistan’s squad for the Twenty20s against Sri Lanka in the UAE later this month. Left-arm spinner Zulfiqar Babar, who was not picked for the recently-concluded home and away limited-overs games against South Africa, has been named in the 14-man squad, which will also play a one-off T20 against Afghanistan in the lead-up to the Sri Lanka series.
Middle-order batsman Haris Sohail, who has been on the fringes of the national team but has not played in it since August, makes a comeback. Uncapped Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited batsman Sharjeel Khan also earns a call-up.
Veteran allrounders Abdul Razzaq and Shoaib Malik who were ruled out of the South Africa games with injury have not been named.
Offspinner Saeed Ajmal will not play the T20 against Afghanistan on December 8, but will join the team ahead of the two matches against Sri Lanka, scheduled for December 11 and 13.

Pakistan leave out Rehman, Jamshed for SL Twenty20s

It's a fair decision to drop Jamshed. He's been out of touch for quite a long time now. He needs to go back to domestic level and regain his form. I hope they don't play hafeez up the order. He brings the whole team under pressure by getting out in a few min. Oh wait, there's no Steyn lol.

Re: Pakistan leave out Rehman, Jamshed for SL Twenty20s

Guys... we are playing SA so Hafeez may play a few big innings :D

Re: Pakistan leave out Rehman, Jamshed for SL Twenty20s

Nice Squad and correct batting order.

Hafeez is Captain and thinks of himself as a International opener. So I think he'll continue at No.3, and as we saw in SA series, he played U. Akmal at 4 and Maqsood at 5. I think he'll continue to do that. Although, Maqsood deserves to play at 3/4 in my opinion.

Re: Pakistan leave out Rehman, Jamshed for SL Twenty20s

Sharjeel’s selection is a positive sign. He is young attacking and ambitious

Sharjeel Khan: I want to make 200 in an innings in President’s Cup - Latest Cricket News, Articles & Videos at CricketCountry.com

and his list A record (batting ave: 51.44, SR 107.80) means that his selection is on merit. Hope he can take his excellent domestic form into the international games as well

Re: Pakistan leave out Rehman, Jamshed for SL Twenty20s

What about Yasir Hameed? :D ... he has a century in T20.

Re: Pakistan leave out Rehman, Jamshed for SL Twenty20s

Yasir Hameed will never play for Pakistan again. His name is tainted with the whole England 2010 tour - along with the ones who were convicted.

On a side note, Shahzaib Hassan, who was part of our winning WC T20 team, has 2 Centuries in the domestic T20 tournament. He's a forgotten Karachi kid.
