Pakistan is the cheapest country in the world ,Says selected PM Imran Niazi

In a surprising statement , our imposed selected PM Imran Niazi declared Pakistan is the cheapest country of the world

It was actually influenced by a statement of a federal minister and PTI leader Farrukh Habib a day ago

Looking for a serious discussion on the issue

May be they are not saying cheap in terms of cost, rather in terms of character? :fbp:

Ok j/k ofcourse.

I think someone needs to present inflation statistics to discuss this matter in seriousness. :chai:

It is relative to income, I looked at average doctors wages there and it is 760 dollars/month My massage therapist who comes to our house charges $100 an hour so he makes that much money in a day. I think meat prices here maybe double that Pakistan, we pay around 13 dollars/Kilo for beef, 22 per Kilo for goat, atta here is 1 dollar per kilo, daal around 2 dollars a kilo.

There is also a purchase powe parity index that gives a better picture.

The meals are extremely cheap if they are delivered by helicopters.

What was it like like $50 rupees for Imm the dim to ride the helicopter in Islamabad?

Pakistan may actually seem far cheaper than the most expensive country (country X) if you are just visiting Pakistan for a few days. But those who live in Pakistan long term realize how misleading that assumption is. I will go as far as saying that Pakistan is the world’s most expensive country with one exception. The level of cheating and corruption is rampant from top to bottom of Pakistani society, and it is only increasing. The only exception is for those who have many connections and can physically beat up anyone who messes with them. That is why the trend to introduce yourself along with your connections is catching up.

Let’s say you want to get something fixed in your car and the expenses are like:

Country X: USD 100/= (parts) + USD 200/= (labor)
Pakistan : USD 050/= (parts) + USD 025/= (labor)

In country X you can leave your car with the mechanic and go to work without worrying about:

  • Fake parts that will neither last a fraction of what the real thing does but also cause damage.
  • Some parts getting stolen from your car
  • Replacement of genuine parts with fake parts
  • Car being driven around town and/or driven carelessly causing other damage
  • Use of improper tools/materials causing damage
  • Being lied to about need for extra parts
  • Shortcuts taken or poor workmanship that causes further damage
  • Being lied to about issue being fixed and billed without any recourse for you
  • Having to go to the mechanic again and again for the same issue

But in Pakistan, none of that applies. No matter how much you worry about being duped, you will still be duped. Although people get duped around the world, the frequency and scale at which these things happen in Pakistan is hard to imagine for the uninitiated. Except of course if you have connections and can call upon some gang to beat up people. For everyone else, the actual cost you pay makes Pakistan the world’s most expensive country.
