Pakistan is playing too defensive

I dont remember them doing anything different or coming in a game with a plan. same lakeer key fakir wali policy . jo paper pey hain follow that. 3 games already gone and we are too scared to play junaid, waiting till the end to take powerplay, openers have failed, razzaq is still coming at number 8. all we are doing is relying on just one person to peform with either bat or bowl ..afridi will not take 5 wickets in every game and razaq will not always score a quick 40-50 runs in last 2 overs . it is hit and miss in the end. i can understand sending him at no 8 if you are chasing but if you are batting first why wait???

I think razzaq shud open the batting not bowling. afridi shud come at no3 and umar akmal shud come early not kamran akmal.

**Seems like you are rite...........to scared to take chances............:)

Better be offensive rather defensive..............**

Re: Pakistan is playing too defensive

yeah....the group B teams and even Aussies will be hard to beat if Pak maintain status quo in the game plan...

at least openers need to start scoring...

Re: Pakistan is playing too defensive

Give it a rest. If they play aggressively and get out than we will have threads with titles like brainless and rubbish batting and all that. They are doing fine. Don't like it don't watch it. Simple.

Re: Pakistan is playing too defensive

that's true too...
but the openers need to fire.....so against the big teams the middle and lower order is not under too much pressure....

Re: Pakistan is playing too defensive

The openers certainly need to come good sooner rather than later as we approach the KO stage. Hopefully they will hit form in the remaining 3 group matches. I would probably send Razzaq a bit early (but not open with him) but other than that we do not need to tinker with the batting order too much. In the event of a mini-collapse plus to make the best use of batting power play we need a solid late-middle order as well
