Pakistan is no friend of pashtuns

Re: Pakistan is no friend of pashtuns

Sir Pashtuns have been posted in one of the most high ranks in Pakistan they have been president Army Chiefs and other major posts sir lapak stop dividing Muslims on the lines of ethnicity don’t follow the footsteps of Traitor party ANP and Sir Talibans are also Afghans and at least they are better than secular Traitors and Pakistan should not help any pashtuns but should only help Muslims of the world

Re: Pakistan is no friend of pashtuns

I have emboldened some of the interesting the article raises. It of course focuses on the negative side and is quite biased. Sadly there are lots of harsh truths in this article.

Pashtun society has suffered immensely due to pakistan’s warped colonial carry-on policy. No effort has been made to develop non-GT road areas of Pashtun land. Many pashtuns have been a huge success and have high level jobs yet how many of these are in their home provinces? Even before the 1980’s how much was done to develop economic bases in KP?

The writer is not blaming Pakistan but the establishment - I hate to say this but the Pakistan establishment is the most warped group of people on this earth. They have completely hi-jacked the state of Pakistan for their benefit.

Swat was so much better 40 years ago as an independent state yet now it has been completely ignored and is falling apart. Many people from Swat was independence from Pakistan because they feel that much abused by the etsablishment’s games.

Re: Pakistan is no friend of pashtuns

Pashtuns should be a part of Pakistan. Just becoz Pashtuns have suffered a bit of alienation in Pakistan, that does not mean pashtuns should support taliban and join the ranks of taliban.

In every country some groups do suffer from alienation, but that does not mean they should wage war against state.

Pak fauj need to take special care while handling war against taliban..any pahstun looking at this video wont be happy.

Re: Pakistan is no friend of pashtuns

The war is not "Pashtuns vs Pakistan", this is what some people would have you believe.

Re: Pakistan is no friend of pashtuns

But alienation is different and getting bombed by state is completely different your state is bombing them

Re: Pakistan is no friend of pashtuns

I disagree with the article, there are more Pakhtuns in Pakistan than Afghanistan -- if this sentiment was shared by the majority of Pakhtuns in Pakistan, secession could not be stopped by any "Pakistani" force. On the other hand, I also see a rampant anti-Pakhtun sentiment both on this message board and amongst Pakistanis - much like how the west views Muslims as terrorists, many Pakistanis hold similar views towards Pakhtuns, which is disheartening.

Sure the Taliban are predominantly Pakhtun, but what about the Pakistani state manipulating Afghanistan, Haqqani network? What about OBL being found in a garrison city? What about Pakhtuns being used as cannon fodder and the Deep State concept?

Now let me take the Afghanistan issue head-on. When many Pakistanis call Afghanis names, consider them worse than dogs -- they forget that Pakhtuns of Pakistan also share many of the same bloodlines as our brothers across the Durand and this talk hatred towards Afghanis is totall repulsive. I mean you don't see me talking badly towards Indians? When most of the Pakistani Punjabis are the same as their Indian counterparts, same would apply to Sindhis and Urdu speakers. On the one hand you hate Afghanis, while simultaneously trying to dominate that country?

I am going to move away from this ethnic crap because we need to be solving PAKISTANI problems not trying to tear each other down. No hate for Pakistanis, Afghanis, or Indians.

Re: Pakistan is no friend of pashtuns

^ well said bro, but all Afghans are not pakhtuns...and i have seen some afghan pakhtuns hurling names on Pakistani pakhtuns...and what about the sanctuaries of tehreek e taleban Pakistan in Afghanistan, and the TTP is responsible for most of the problems for Pakhtuns...but overall I agree with your sentiments in the post.

Re: Pakistan is no friend of pashtuns

No doubt all Afghans are not Pakhtuns, but Afghan = Pakhtun. Obviously I don't support this calling, but the fact is that you can not hate people from your own family -- disagree with them? most definitely.

We need to make a differentiation between the Taliban and TTP. It is clear that TTP operates under a foreign agenda, perhaps they have co-opted anti-Pakistani Pakhtuns, but the fact remains that KP has borne the brunt of the TTP. I see them nothing more than an anti-state terror organization.

Re: Pakistan is no friend of pashtuns

^^^ How can Afghan=Pashtuns when Pakistan has the largest pashtun population of any country in the world (40+million) people? There are more Pashtuns in Karachi or Lahore than there are in Kabul. As for the victimization part, every minority group see it self as victim of some kind of conspiracy by majority group. Pakistan is no exception.

that’s a pretty disturbing video.. although I expect a lot of armies and police to be rough with some people they arrested.. but…, watching it happen. pretty disturbing.

Re: Pakistan is no friend of pashtuns

^^ huh,,, disturbing? i guess you havent seen mass execution videos.

Re: Pakistan is no friend of pashtuns

watching one disturbing video doesnt give me immunity for all other disturbing videos!

unfortunately ive seen more disturbing than this.

Re: Pakistan is no friend of pashtuns

I don't think you understand the historical basis of the name. Afghan has been used (interchangeably) for Pakhtuns since the fifth century AD, and the modern Afghan state was established, predicated on the basis of Pakhtun dominance of Afghanistan. It has nothing to do with where the population is now currently located. For example, there are more Lebanese, Armenians in the diaspora, however that does not negate the basis of their sovereign "home" nations.

I am not sure what you mean about the victimization part -- the drone attacks, civilians as collateral damage is a reality. Now YOU might not care because perhaps you don't see Pakhtun tribes as people or are perhaps happy to see them killed, but I do. I have seen the drones overhead, I have seen the classes stopped, I have seen people in the markets look up and think for a split second: "is there going to be a bomb dropped on me" and yes I condemn them. I bet many people would change their minds about the drones if Karach or Lahore were targeted.

The difference is that I would condemn any violation of Pakistani sovereignty whether its occurring in Kashmir or KP.

Re: Pakistan is no friend of pashtuns

The ISI and theri double games are responsible for most of the problems of Pashtuns nowadays.

Re: Pakistan is no friend of pashtuns

^ agreed but now the people are fed up with the double games of our army/isi, for the first time in our history they are being challenged, and if they dont mend their ways soon they will find themselves in a precarious situation soon.

Re: Pakistan is no friend of pashtuns

Yes we are not friends of Pakhtoons.... wo 20 saal tu aeen waeen muft imdad kee sub kee .....when even UN ran away from aiding them...
