This was from one of my post couple of years ago…
LOOKING BACK AT…HOW INDIA & PAKISTAN Separated and what happened since then til today,…?
However, before one gets totally engrossed with the present statistical analysis of Pakistan, it should be bore in mind what Pakistan had at Independence, As I am fully aware a learned individual like you fellows would know ALL the manufacturing was concentrated in the regions which today constitute India.
Again, if the official treasury figures are to be taken into consideration, at partition the ratio of split of goods was to be 3:1 in India’s favour. However, as things turned out we (Pakistan) was deprived of Rs. 10 million (which never reached the vaults of the State Bank of Pakistan for one simple reason - they never left New Delhi!)
When you remember at partition…alot of money…
(1 UK pound = 5 Rs) then,…
We are the only nation which, after independence practically started from scratch. No government institutions, no infrastructure, no sufficient military hardware, not much really…
Further, we have been to war thrice, once over Kashmir, liberating what we could literally with our bare hands - remember India kept all the weapons, once to protect Lahore (I think Gen. Choudhary, Indian Commander-in-Chief invited the press to the Lahore Gymkhana for tea at 1530hrs on 6 Sept 1965 - sorry to spoil it for you General saab!) Pakistan not only defended itself,..but took more area from Indian Army.Gen. Choudhary, Indian Commander-in-Chief,…bechhara forgot his tea,.LOL
Further, we have no hatred for India - whoever exhibits these facets really needs to see a doctor. However, we do most certainly laugh! I mean look at these examples:
India - the world’s largest democracy
Yup - the people vote but they can’t have their say (???)
India is richer than Pakistan
Hmmmm, interesting BUT IT SHOULD BE! Remember India is just a bit bigger than us…But proportionately equating the two nations - Pakistan’s income is greater than India’s…
India has a mighty Armed Forces
Well if you believe this - God help you!
700,000 troops against a population of 4million?? The world’s largest soldier to civilian ratio!! India has lost more men in Siachin/Kargil/1971/1965/1949 than Pakistan - comparatively speaking…
The India Today, claimed the forces are now suffering from lack of desire for potential officer material, but if they are so hugh and mighty - shouldn’t people be wanting a career in the forces, like the US (and Pakistan)?Right now Indian Armed Forces needs 12,000 officers so bad, Can’t find young people willing to go for Army anymore.Their new breed of indians just need easy and key punching jobs…Indian Army have more shortages since Kargil…
…the list is endless, and this is but a mere tip of the ice berg…
Lets face facts - in a nuclear war there is no force greater than the other, hence the MAD scenario.
******************FROM MY PREVIOUS POSTS ***********
Look at India,…you may know by now,…India is surrounded by three enemies for sure,..alongwith one potential one,..Nepal.While Pakistan has just one on its eastern border,…That’s all,…Two of four are nuclear powers,…China and Pakistan,…Bengladesh is Has a convential might only. Now the policy makers in India know very well,…By Ignoring Pakistan is not in the best interest of India…Also,..Unstable Pakistan will be the biggest threat to India too…therefore,..the best thing to do is,..to solve problems,..which we both countries got since partition. We have no choice here,..or no alternative at all,…has to be done,…either slow or fast,…but something must happen to start comprehensive dialogues in future,…
Where as getting ready for worst,…Trust me,..when time comes comes,…readiness doesn’t work,..in nuclear war,…May be in convential but not nuclear,…Just doing couple of excercises for own satisfaction and feeling good are ok,..In reality its a whole different game,..
Enemy shouldn’t be or must not be under-estimted,…If hitsory is the guide here.
