Based on the situation, it was obvious that any incoming government would have had to go to IMF for a bailout package, whether it was PML-N, PTI or PPP. So its not exactly fair to blame PML-N for it. However, yes, its true that they have basically sold us hook, line and sinker.
IMF terms had been in the news long before the government even came in. IMF had presented its conditions for a new loan to the previous government in previous meetings held earlier this year. And it was funny to note that PML-N factored in those 'requirements' in its budget, without proclaiming them to be IMF demands. Not a single IMF demand has been refused. When was the last time you saw IMF pass a loan within a week of 'negotiations'?
