Pakistan has a higher proportion of women elected to parliament than any country in South Asia (incl. India), near the top of the scale in the Muslim world, and a higher proportion than leading western decmocracies like the United States, Canada, Greate Britain and France.

This is due solely to the electoral reforms pushed through by General Musharraf in 2002, hence credit where credit is due.

In 2001 local elections more than 40,000 women were elected as councillors at the district, tehsil and union levels.

Islamabad is one of the 10 cleanest cities of the world.
Unfortunately, terrorism, religious Jihadi Madrasas, ethnic killings and regional discontent is generally highlighted overseas/media. Dictatorship is also a big negative.
Pakistan has a lot going for it, in terms of high growth rate, young population etc.
