Agreed. My guess is that the story was leaked for political reasons.

Hmm… where is that? Is it an important place? LOL…
Re: Pakistan Had Planned A Nuclear Attack On India In 1999
The worrying aspect of the Kargil conflict is that it was solely planned by the Pakistani military, namely Musharraf, with no input from the civilian government. Militaries plan for conflict, but they are sub-serviant to civilian governments and the policy for engagement or retaliation is made by the elected leadership. This is and was not the case for Pakistan. Musharraf had no exit startegy, only a startegy of UN trying to end the conflict. Obviously his strategy backfired.
Clearly Musharraf had little idea of what he was getting into. Like his predecessors, he did not anticipate the Indian reaction nor the reaction of the world, including “all weather firend” China. Was the decimation of the Northern Light Infantry, international condemnation, and a total rejection of objectives worth the effort?

India Wrestles with Nuclear Arms Paradox
Mon January 13, 2003 05:20 AM ET
By Sanjeev Miglani
NEW DELHI (Reuters) - Nearly five years after India and Pakistan
became nuclear powers, New Delhi is finally coming to terms with what
that status means – the threat of a Pakistani first strike has
neutralized its conventional superiority.
Analysts say last year’s inconclusive military standoff between the
neighbors highlighted what many had feared when the two conducted
tit-for-tat nuclear tests in 1998, that India would no longer dare go
to war with Pakistan.
“India has become a victim of nuclear blackmail,” said C. Raja Mohan,
strategic affairs editor at The Hindu newspaper.
So, unable to go back, India is copying the example of the United
States and the former Soviet Union at the height of the Cold War,
building its nuclear deterrent to the point of mutually assured
destruction so that neither side would dare go nuclear.
Re: Pakistan Had Planned A Nuclear Attack On India In 1999
You think you got good sense of humour? If gassing or farting (as you call it) is as common and dangerous in India, I would suggest you to apply for SUPERPOWER status in farting. And what’s funny is, let Pakistan test their nukes on India and India can test your gas on Pakistan!!!
If the above statement is agreeable then you must be India’s biggest moron. Please don’t say things that would put India down by trying to be a smart alec.

Pakistan Navy is planning on modifying the current submarine fleet (of Agosta 90-B’s) to carry & be able to launch Babur from underwater. Once this is done, we can attack any coastal city or city within reach. But I doubt that PN will send it as far down south, near Bangalore. We are more of a defensive fleet, than an agressive one.
Re: Pakistan Had Planned A Nuclear Attack On India In 1999
how about east coast of china even better.
Re: Pakistan Had Planned A Nuclear Attack On India In 1999
Why would Pakistan want to goto East Coast China?
Re: Pakistan Had Planned A Nuclear Attack On India In 1999
Why wouldn’t pakistan go to east coast of China when invited? Don’t friends invite friends? Welcome to the east coast of China to Pakistan anytime. Probably have dinner or lunch in a 7 star hotel, relax and then they can carry on their journey to India for another round of target practice.
Re: Pakistan Had Planned A Nuclear Attack On India In 1999
