Is this true? I heard an Indian friend from Bombay (Mumbay) say that Gpoldman Sacchs has bought some part of the exchange partening with NYSE and some Pakistan company called Asian bank?

your friend is playing a joke on you.
it was not the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), but a combined 20% stake in the NSE.
the four investors were:
1) NYSE
2) Goldman Sachs
3) General Atlantic (large american private equity firm)
4) SAIF Partners (hong kong-based VC fund)

Of course you can buy the whole stock exchange, the London stock exchange recently recvied bids form Nasdaq and the German Dax. I am sure UK kee companies marr nahin gaye thee.
