Pakistan going bankrupt soon?

Soaring imports, capital flight (no investor confidence is Zardari/Sharif), and limited exports and revenue growth mean that government savings are dwindling alarmingly. By next year forex will be used up, and thus Pakistan will have to default on loans and enter a financial crisis.

This is the stark reality facing Pakistan now, it has poorly prepared in terms of import reduction and substitution program and energy.

What are the long term effects of this pending crisis?

Any benefits? (a brand new start?)

Argentina faced such a crisis several years ago and is now back strongly, but I doubt Pakistan will fare so well.

This will lead to Islamist revolution to my utter revolt.

Re: Pakistan going bankrupt soon?

Sad, where has all the billions of dollars donated by US are gone. Dint all the money go to military and the army people and to fight against India. Pakistan was on the verge of bankrupt before 9/11, then US poured in Billions. Army folks sure have become rich.

Re: Pakistan going bankrupt soon?

People have no jobs, nothing to do, Schools are being bombed, plenty of free time for kids, what will they do? There is no outlet for any activities, No entertainment.

Join Jihad and indulge in religion and terrorism. These people are going to be recruited by Taliban and ISI,

Re: Pakistan going bankrupt soon?

kse is shedding points, investors are turned off by violence in nation. pakistan is on the verge of total economic collapse, which will wreck havoc.

i cant see a solution to it. cutting subsidies (necessary) forces prices up, causes huge problems. having subsidies will speed up the economic collapse.

pakistan needs to start afresh. let it collapse, and then try attaining autarky for a time.

coffee_cake bhaijan. Thanks to the Unprecedented amount of Foreign Reserves inherited by the current government, thanks to the Unprecedented Economic Growth seen until last year, Pakistan is able to survive the current crisis.

But you are right. Unfortunately these reserves are running out fast and Pakistan is moving towards even greater crisis.

Re: Pakistan going bankrupt soon?

Great Zardari today said that these problems were orchestrated by great Musharraf right before February to pave way for the continuation of Musharraf's illegit dictatorship.

Re: Pakistan going bankrupt soon?

So what do you guys suggest? (Other than uniting back with India)

Hahaha. Spock Bhaijan. Great Zardari and coalition govt can obviously put things right can't they? They can start by impeaching Great President Musharaf and restoring the EX CJ, as people allegedly wanted on 18 Feb. :D

Tariq Akhtar bhaijan. It is very simple. The government should start governing, and get Pakistan out the mess they have created for it. It appears they are more interested in non issues like trying to get rid of a legitimitely elected President, and restore the EX CJ who had politicized his post.

Time for the government to govern, and get the economy back on track, rather than living on the Unprecedented amount of Foreign reserves they had inherited from the past government. These Foreign reserves are running out fast.

This can not happen if you have a old senile dictator who thinks Pakistan was his jahaiz ka maal.

if so-called parhay likhay are unable to distinguish between legitimate and illegitimate then there should be no blame on followers of Taliban.

Spock bhaijan. Which country are you talking about? There are no dictators in Pakistan, only legitimitely elected President, and a Parliamentary democracy with the Ministers taking oath from Great President Musharaf. :hehe:

Re: Pakistan going bankrupt soon?

Which country is this guy from then, aalsi:

The World’s Worst Dictators: Pervez Musharraf | PARADE Magazine

In recent months, Musharraf suspended Pakistan’s constitution, shut down the courts, arrested several thousand dissidents and passed a law removing challenges to his continuation as president. He allowed former prime ministers Nawaz Sharif and Benazir Bhutto to return to Pakistan but barred Sharif from running in elections. Bhutto was assassinated—an act that some observers tie to Musharraf’s government.

Hahaha. Spock bhaijan. Is this the same President from whom the current govt took oath of office? Are you saying the current government is illigitimate, and you do not agree with the elections that took place in democratic Pakistan on 18 Feb 2008. :hehe: .

He is also the same president who used to salute Nawaz Sharif, doesnt mean squat. This is also the same president who chickens out (lacks the manhood) and can never dare address a session of the parliament.

Spock Bhaijan. Does this mean Great President Musharaf will be impeached very soon. :D
