Pakistan faces travel ban if
polio not eradicated by 2013**
ISLAMABAD: The Senate Standing Committee on Inter-Provincial Coordination has revealed that a ban may be placed on Pakistani’s travelling abroad if polio is not eradicated by 2013.
Senator Kareem Khawaja informed the committee that the international community had indicated that if polio was not eliminated by next year, a travel ban could be placed.
When the World Health Organisation (WHO) was asked to verify this claim, the spokesperson said that there is a recommendation to make a polio vaccination certificate necessary for Pakistani’s travelling abroad, however there have been no further developments.
Once again in the headlines for another wrong reason. A little bit of planning, coordination and will to throw the menace out of the country. But we know that most of our priorities are mislaid and we are pretty fine with that.

Or the news is just false? The WHO can not in state a world wide ban. It doesn't have the authority. The news is bogus. Remember H1N1? Was there any ban then? Nope and that actually killed hundreds of people.

^^ Travel ban or no travel ban, Polio vaccine should have not been used for the spying purposes, it was never easy to convince people to have their kids these vaccine drops, there were rumors that these drops contain some kind of medicine which later make males impotent... hence no one wanted this, with great efforts from the officials of the health department this rumors were tackled and now we are back at square one... a mass awareness campaign should be launched and in that campaign show the kids, grownup with polio disease and let the people make the choice, they want to be normal or want to be like the guy in the picture???

Yes and again I am stating that its not possible. The EU and US can put in individual bans but that is a national prerogative. However the same would apply for Nigeria an Afghanistan.
