Pakistan elected member IAEA Board of Governors

I belive this is a very good news…

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has been elected as a member of the international Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors for the period of 2003-2005. It was announced during the 47th Regular Session of the IAEA General Conference in progress in Vienna, (Austria) in an unanimous decision by Middle East & South Asia (MESA) region of IAEA.
The re-election of Pakistan to the IAEA’s Board of Governors speaks of the trust and confidence that the international nuclear community places in Pakistan for its relentless efforts to promote the objectives of the Agency and the interests of the developing Member States.

:)

This is great news. Though I am sure plenty of people will find it the height of irony. Isn't part of IAEA responsibilities to stop nuclear proliferation?

Why is this great news?
