**At least three suspected militants have been killed in a US drone attack in Pakistan’s North Waziristan region, Pakistani officials say.**They said missiles hit a house in the Hamzoli area of North Waziristan, not far from the South Waziristan border.
Hundreds of people, many of them civilians, have been killed in drone attacks in the past year. Top Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsud was among them.
North and South Waziristan are known havens of al-Qaeda and the Taliban.
An eyewitness, Ahmed Noor Wazir, told the Associated Press news agency that rescuers had pulled out three dead bodies in the village of Shana Khuwara.
Four men had been wounded in the attacks, Mr Wazir said.
Pakistan has publicly criticised drone attacks, saying they fuel support for the militants.
The US military does not routinely confirm drone attacks, but the US armed forces and CIA in Afghanistan are the only forces capable of deploying drones in the region, analysts say.
