Authorities in Pakistan have deported a British citizen arrested last year for alleged terror links, his lawyer says.
Zeeshan Siddiqui, 26, was detained in North-West Frontier Province last May on suspicion of ties to al-Qaeda.
No evidence was found to support the claims and her client was now back in the UK after being deported on Sunday, lawyer Musarrat Hilali told the BBC.
A judge acquitted Mr Siddiqui in December of charges that he violated his visa and impersonated someone else.
Ms Hilali told the BBC no terrorism charges had been brought against her client.
“The intelligence agencies questioned him… over his alleged involvement in the London bombings but he was later declared innocent,” she added.
“He is back in his west London house.”
She said her client had been arrested with a forged passport in the name of Shehzad, but prosecutors failed to defend the charges in court in Peshawar and he had been acquitted.

I was unhappy to see the London bomber’s minced meat of the remains being buried in my country. This vermin was a UK aloo store product, so he should have been dispatched to hell within UK.
I’m truly sorry for UK guppies and my heart cries for Pakistan’s fate with these young men. These UK guppies should send us Oxford trained physicists, or Cambridge trained doctors. Instead we in Pakistan end up getting these no-good cheaters, riff-raffs, who fake passports, get @r$e whooped in our Mad-house-Russahs (mudrussahs), and then go on to blow themselves up among innocent population.
Hmmm! So you would say that this Siddiqi clown from UK, with fake passport and name like Shehzad, roaming near Afghan border, was in fact looking for rishta (wedding) with a cute looking Pushtoon?
Your defense of this clown is simply mind-boggling and the biggest irony.
