Who is responsible for "fitness" and "improvements on technical flaws" in a player? I thought its coach's responsibility, am I wrong?

Good thing to note, but where did the younger players pick this?

Thats why he wanted to do the analsys and he was turned down, our players think the coach is just there for the name and they don't have to listen to him. No wonder why our team a$$ got kicked.
Pybus is right and you all know it. I watched Kenya's match today and their fielding was outstanding. Why? Because they've been practising it for the last two years.
Go ahead - sack Pybus and get Miandad in. Maybe Inzimam will play better when he's two stone overweight and everyone's bitching over who gets the lion's share of the prize money again.
Pakistan may have better success without Inzimam and get a Imran, Gavaskar or Miandad to coach
Gavaskar? and what makes u think without Inzi we will have success? ![]()

Pybus has drawn up a plan, reports bbc sport
Richard Pybus, who has quit as Pakistan coach, believes the structure of cricket in the country needs a radical overhaul.
The 38-year-old echoed the sentiments of Pakistan legend Imran Khan who earlier in the week stressed the need to change the first-class game.
Here are the key points from Pybus’s plan to improve the state of Pakistani cricket.
Appointing fully qualified full-time coaches for all first class-sides
Improving the mindset: ensuring a culture of analysing opponents, looking for strengths and weaknesses, and developing strategies to win games.
Making sure there is proper medical back-up for all teams, such as physios and sports clinics.
Setting up a Pakistan national sports institute.
More use of technology.
Pybus added that he thinks the Pakistan players should spend as much time as possible in English county cricket.
“The likes of Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, and before them, Imran Khan, learned much of their cricketing skills from the English game.”
Despite his obvious worries, the South African-based Englishman remained optimistic about Pakistan’s future.
"Pakistan are ranked eighth in Test cricket, and that’s no accident.
“However there are some talented cricketers coming through, like Mohammed Sami, Taufiq Umar and Younis Khan.”
are you sure Pakistan is ranked only 8th in test cricket? isn't that lik bottom o fthe barrel?
Well I don't know why Pybus has finally brought this up after he is retiring. But he is absolutly true.
But where will be get the money, countries stopped coming to Pakistan due to security fears and that resulted in a huge financial loss, where most of the money should have gone to domestic cricket in Pakistan.
I said Gavaskar only to indicate Pakistan has to think out of the box (also perhaps a deeply hidden hope that if we atleast start normalizing in the cricket field, may be other things follow).
Let Inzi go to county or 1st class cricket and regain his place in the squad. For a player around whom the entire batting strategy has been wound up, to fail this long is dangerous. Everytime he walks in there's incrementally more pressure. Need some diversification.
But the most important reason I said get rid of Inzi is because the things I read about his behaviour seem to indicate a "above the law" prima donna which is never good for any team. Even if he's scoring a 100 but is going to bring down the attitude of 3 other players, that's not worth it, is it?
Getting rid of Inzi would be a bad idea, he is just out of form like any other player.
aravamudhan, all players have gone through the phase, Ganguly was recently going through the same phase against Windies, New Zealand and first part of the WC, did that mean Indian board should have dropped him or Sachin who was lack of form in Windies and got out on duck 3 times, does that mean he should have been sent to a county to gain his form back. They are players of class, things like that happen to them numerous times in their career, and it comes natural, they can get their form back.

Pybus parts company with Pakistan
Reuters - 8 March 2003
World Cup coach Richard Pybus said on Saturday he would not be seeking a new deal with Pakistan after the team’s World Cup failure.
He also suggested the team might need a home-grown coach to fulfil its potential.
Pybus told Reuters by phone from East London: "I’m not down but it was incredibly frustrating. From a coaching point of view, I was not able to help improve the team’s performance as I wanted to.
“Whether it was me or the players. I don’t know. I didn’t feel the team had moved forward. My contract ran out at the end of the World Cup campaign and I’ll now take some time to think things over.”
Pakistan, the 1999 finalists and ranked among the main teams likely to challenge Australia, were knocked out of the first round of the tournament.
Pybus, born in England but based in South Africa where he made his name as a coach with Border, has had several stints in charge of Pakistan dating back to the 1999 World Cup.
“Maybe the team needs a Pakistani coach,” he said.
Pakistan, however, have had a string of their own former Test players in charge in recent years, including Mushtaq Mohammad, Javed Miandad and Intikhab Alam, without achieving consistent success.
Pybus is preparing a report for the Pakistan Cricket Board on the World Cup campaign.
Pybus said the team had not played good cricket “for quite some time” but that poor form has been masked by exceptional individual performances.
“People always talk about the talent in the Pakistan side but a team is a collective,” he said. “I believe the reasons (for Pakistan’s underachievement) run deeper than what happens at international level.”
Pakistan’s performance in South Africa was their worst since the inaugural tournament in 1975.
They were well beaten by Australia, lost to England after getting the worst of the conditions in a day-nighter and then lost to India after a brilliant innings by Sachin Tendulkar.
The campaign ended unhappily with leading batsman Inzamam-ul-Haq, who scored 19 runs in six innings, involved in a brawl with team mates before the team’s final game against Zimbabwe. That game, Pakistan’s last chance of progressing on net run rate, was washed out.
I think its time he quits or is kicked out!
Thanks God. he knew PCB was going to kick him out, so he risigned. I hope PCB choose a new system for everything. Everything needs to be changed; domestic cricket sys., coaching sys., etc. I read Imran Khan will be the next chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board.
one of these players might be chosen as a new coach: Javed Miandad, Abdul Qadir, Agha Zahid, Mudasar Nazar, Haroon Raheed, and Zahir Abbas.
I would prefer Javed Miandad as coach and Imran Khan as Chairman.
