Pakistan Cricket Board plans to launch TV channel

MUMBAI: Close on the heels of the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI), the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is also toying with the idea of launching a television channel.

The board has hired ex-PTV hand Ather Waqar Azim to carry out its feasibility report on the plan.

According to a report appeared in the Pakistani daily The Nation, the need for the PCB to have its own channel was felt after the state run PTV (Pakistan Television) informed the organisation that it would not be able to telecast domestic cricket as there was no commercial interest in it.

According to the report, PCB’s channel will also telecast other sporting events.

And why should there be? Bhatija Sami is still a very active part of our National Squad. I say we drop him permanently and let the interest rise in the domestic circuit. :D

Thanks for the news. :)
