Peshawar, Pakistan March 4: Pakistan
Captain Saeed Anwar said his team was ready for the Second Test against
the visiting Sri Lankans, starting at the
Arbab Niaz Stadium, Peshawar on Sunday.
Anwar, talking to a group of journalists at a reception last night said he was confident his team would win the second test and take the series into the final test, weather permitting.
Persistent rain and overcast conditions
have lead to a wet outfield however ground
staff have been working hard throughout the
night to keep water away from the square.
“We showed signs of our form in Pindi, and we
are in a positive frame of mind for the game.
Winning and losing is part and parcel of cricket, but I am pleased at the way my
team came back on the last three days of the game”
Anwar said he was confident his team would
be able to level the series in Peshawar even without the services of Wasim Akram.
“Akram is a key bowler, however we have a fantastic reserve of fast bowlers with us in the squad, and they are all capable of delivering the goods on Sunday”.
