Pakistan and China have launched a 50:50 joint venture to help channel mutual investments across the economy in infrastructure, finance, agriculture and manufacturing, Pakistan’s caretaker Finance Minister Salman Shah said Monday.** Pak-China Investment Co., set up with an initial equity capital of $200 million, will work as a window for the China Development Bank to evaluate joint ventures between two country’s companies, a government statement added. “It is 5-year economic strategy including a recently concluded free trade agreement which targets to bring trade and investment up to $15 billion in the next five years”,** Shah told Dow Jones Newswires after launching the new company. During 2005-06 both countries traded goods worth $3.17 billion. Pakistan exported to China goods worth $470 million, and imported goods valued at $2.7 billion in 2005-06

Yes, also the partnership ensured that they pumped in hundreds of millions of dollars into the building of Gwadur port, the Makran Highway and other ongoing mega projects. Inshallah, the new joint venture will build on this.

yep balochistan for the first time is getting developments, thanks to the great leadership of musharraf all neglected areas are developing
China is also greatly helping Pakistan in the upgradation of the Karakoram Highway, and setting up massive business parks in Punjab. Also, there is talk about an oil gas or oil pipeline from Iran/Middle East via Pakistan upto China, so there is so much opportunity for expanding relations between the two countries.
