Cricket Australia has joined Cricket NSW in petitioning the local Indian High Commission to reverse a decision denying the 24-year-old, who was born in Islamabad but moved to Australia as a toddler, permission to travel to India using his Australian passport.
Khawaja yesterday vented his anger at the decision using his Twitter account. ‘‘Indian Visa department need to sort their issues out. Refusing to let me travel to India as an Australian, because I wasn’t born here. Wow,’’ he wrote.
