Pakistan team has won the first test match played against Spain in Tarrasa Hockey Stadium 6-2. The team was leading 1-0 in the first half.
Sohail Abbas scored two goals on direct penalty corner push, first in the 32nd minute of the first half and second in the 11th minute of second half. Atif Bashir scored two field goals in 16th and 33rd minute of second half on passes from Naveed and Saqlain. Kashif scored the 4th goal in 26th minute on the rebound from goalkeeper. Sarwar scored the 5th goal of the second half in the 31st minute on a pass from Nadeem.
Pakistan team earned six penalty corners and conceded three. In the defence Waseem, Saqlain and Usman played well and in the forward line Sarwar and Atif Bashir displayed some good and controlled moves. Irfan showed some
original right wing strides and crosses in the match.
The Pakistan team missed a few chances in the first half because of the pitch having been laid recently was slippery and the boys took time to get adjusted in the first half. All the players exhibited good teamwork with improved speed and stamina.
The second match against Spain will be played on 17th June.
