did anyone expected something better ????

well to tell the TRUTH i did and i pray and hope they will win atleast the Test Series but looking at them right now it's going to be a miracle ... but even that isn't impossible with the grace of Allah the almighty. Ameen.

Pakistan plays with no heart in warmup matches. Expect something different in the test series.

…and alot of Guppies blame Waqar for messing up

well no matter the team is performing well or wha ever
but his own performance is always ok.

oh thank you Ehsan, for correcting the mess :)

I don't know why everyone is so hard on Waqar, he was the best Pakistani bowler throughout the South African series.

I don’t expect anything better from the Pakistani side in the test series. If they got out on 174 against the ‘A’ team…I wonder what they will do against the seniour side. Seeing Pakistan performing the way they are…its certainly depressing, and something which is even more depressing about the batting is that Waqar Younis was the top scorer. This is just sad. Lets hope for a better outcome in the test series…and one more thing, Pakistan definetly needs to go with 5 bowlers at least in the test matches, not 4. And Saleem Elahi needs to be kicked out of the test team as we all know he SUCKS big time in tests. I don’t know why the selectors don’t get it, how Taufeeq is not a ODI player, Saleem is not a Test player! :smack:

i wonder if he is even a player on SA pitches

I really liked the way he scored his century in second ODI 135 he made but this century is of no use if he didnt make a combined total of 35 in next three games  Well thy should play with AFridi as an opeener. Again he will get out soon (like Elahi ) but he is a good bowler too!

Elahi has to do a lot of hard work now before he changes peoples minds :hehe:

To be honest I expected this but I have faith in our bowling lineup I am sure they won't let this match go away that easy.

did u notice waqar's batting?

he is playing so much better than our regular batsmen!

Yeah I agree, Pakistan should have play Afridi in place of Saleem Elahi, as this way, they will have a 5th bowling option, and Elahi isn’t doing any better then Afridi…so might as well go with Afridi. But I think he shouldn’t open, Kamran should open with Taufeeq and Afridi should be sent in late, as he is not a test player, although he is much better with the bat in the test macthes rather then ODI’s.

Its no surprise, we dont win much.

I think both India and Pakistan should dump their current cricket teams into the PACIFIC and start afresh.

I don't like the idea of Afridi in test matches, but with Wasim, Shoaib, and Anwar certain to be not in the squad, we might just have to go with Afridi, but with thing about Afridi in test is that he doesn't seem to play stupid shots to throw his wicket away, and he is always full of confidence wheather he will score runs or not. Why not give him a try in the openers spot.
I would say Taufeeq Umar will get the call, but it will be sad for Pakistan to have Taufeeq Umar open, who hasn't scored big even against the 2nd string teams.

Here is what I think should be the squad for the first test.

Shahid Afridi
Taufeeq Umar
Yousuf Youhana
Younis Khan
Inzimam ul Haq
Hasan Raza
Kamran Akmal
Abdul Razzaq
Saqlain Mushtaq
Waqar Younis
Muhammad Sami

This is the best squad i can come up with in the absence of Wasim and Shoaib. M Sami is a good bowler and has the ability to swing the ball both ways. Zahid has yet to prove that he is worth something. Saqlain is always handy on any occaisions.
I think our middle looks very strong with 4 specialist batsman, and a confident Akmal, and Razzaq who has often proved to failed with the bat in test matches might come in handy, Razzaq can be replaced with Fazl E Akbar or Zahid if he doesn't perform but as of now, the batting is the main concern.

well bowled Mohammad Zahid :k:
He can be very effective in SA pitches as he bowls slightly back of the length, just like SA bowlers. And our other bowlers, all of them pitch the ball up. So Mohammad Zahid is a good propsition too :k:
