Re: Pakistan at brink of Civil War

Joke about "bhaag dor":

ek jungle mai, lomri (fox) sher (lion) ko kehti hay "sahib aap bohot dinon se mehnat kar rahay hayn kuchh din aaram kar lijiye", sher sochta hay baat to theek hay, phir kehta hay "mai paRos walay jungle may jaa raha hoon kuchh dinon ke liye".

sher ke jatay hi lomri bandar ke paas pohonch jati hay kehti hay "badshah salamat chhutti per hayn, un ke baad sab se aqalmand aap hi hayn, aap is jungle ki bag-dor sambhal lijiye", bandar maan jata hay, thori der mai lomri pooray jungle mai ailan karwa deti hay ke bandar badshah hay jungle ka.

kuchh din baad sher wapis aata hai dekhta hay har taraf bandar ka charcha hay, foran samajh jata hay ke ye zaroor lomri ki harkat hay, seedha lomri ke ghar ki taraf jata hay. lomri ko pata chal jata hay ke sher aa gaya hay aur us ke ghar ki taraf jaa raha hai, bhagi bhagi bandar ke paas jati hay aur kehti hay ke sher mere bachon ko khaa jaye ga, bandar thori der kuch sochta hai phir darakht ki ek shaakh se doosri shaakh phir teesri shaakh pe chalang lagata hay (jaisay koi jaadoo kar raha hay), idhar se udher bhagta hay phir wapis aa ker lomri se kehta hay ke jaao ab dekho.

lomri jaati hay phir wapis aa ker kehti hay ke sher to abhi bhi lomri ke ghar ki taraf jaa raha hai, lomri roti hay "khuda ke liye kuchh kijiye warna sher mere bachon ko khaa jaye gaa".

This is what our ministers are doing "itni bhaag dor".

In English it will lose its meaning, I will try anyway:

Once upon a time in a jungle a fox advises lion to get sometime off after working hard for so long, lion thinks for a moment and agrees with fox. Soon he leaves to visit another jungle. Once he is gone fox approaches monkey and tells him that lion is on vacation and that monkey is the successor to the lion (for wisdom) so he should assume the responsibility of leading the jungle (as a king).

Few days pass by and lion returns. Upon his return he learns that monkey is now incharge of the jungle, he quickly understood that it must've been fox's move so he starts heading towards her den. Soon fox learns that lion is headed towards her den she runs over to the monkey to do something (to keep lion away from her den) otherwise lion will eat her kids.

Monkey starts jumping from one branch to another, runs here and there and few moments later comes back and asks fox to go see if lion is still headed that way. Fox runs and quickly returns saying lion is still headed that way.

Monkey starts jumping again, runs around, up the tree then down the tree then moments later comes back to fox and asks her to see if situation has changed. Fox runs and returns sadly and says lion has entered her den then starts scolding monkey "why didn't you do anything for me?? I made you the king of the jungle!!!"

Monkey replied "I ran around so much for you, what else I could do?" (Translation: itni bhag dor to kee tumharay liye, aur kia kar sakta tha).

This is what our ministers do: "run around" to solve the problems :D

Re: Pakistan at brink of Civil War

It is the same situation as in erstwhile Yugoslavia whether you take state structure into account or political developments. Established after WWI, Yugoslavia was actually destined to be the state of Salav people in Southern Europe. Initially, Salav identity held it togethor but after WWII communism under the leadership of Marshal Titto emerged as another binding factor for Salavs.

Serbia was the dominent province in Yugoslavia; Slovania, Bosnia, and Crotia were other prominent provinces in Yugoslavian federation. In order to give equitable representation to smaller provinces, Serbia had been split into two parts. But, after the death of Marshal Titto, Serbians, under Milosovic, under the belief that strong Serbian unity would garauntee integrity of the country, tried to re-assert Serbian political authority over other ethnicities, which inflamed the already simmering ethnic tension.

Another development that happened was the economy of Yugoslvia. By 1980, Yugoslavia had borrowed heavily from foreign countries and had huge external debt. In early 1980s, it tried to get loans from other countries but there was economic recession( like the one today) at that time, so no country gave it loan. Ultinmately, it had to get loan from IMF. But due to stringent conditionalities attached with the IMF loan, common masses came under sever ecnomic burdon and high inflation so much so that by 1980, food and power crisis arose. By 1990, it inceasingly became evident that Yugoslavia federation cannot be sustained and so Yugoslavia started falling apart.

In case of Pakistan, there are other problems e.g. poplation explosion (by 2020 Pakistan would have 220-260 millions people approximately 80-100 millions more moths to feed and provide public amenities with), extremism, worsoning law and order.

The 60 millions dollars question is, who is going to be Pakistan's Milosovic? Nawaz Sharif or General Kiyani.

It is high time that something is done and political and state forces from Punjab show some patience and don't overthrow Zardari's govt to create other crisis in the country.

LOD Pai ,our economy is in great turmoil. Can we import 30,000 tons Heroin from Afghanistan to increase our Central Reserves in State Bank :konfused:
