Sometimes, I think why don’t Indian forces dare to violate LoC when Fishermen from both sides can. :hehe:
Oh… the damage is done, so I guess I’ll be leaving…

KARACHI, Pakistan (AP) _ Pakistani naval guards Tuesday arrested 16 Indian fishermen who allegedly violated the country’s territorial waters, officials said.
The fishermen were apprehended in the Arabian Sea, about 50 kilometers (30 miles) from the southern port city of Karachi. They were in three open boats equipped with outboard motors, the officials said.
Fishermen from India and Pakistan who cross into the other country’s coastal areas are often arrested and interrogated on suspicion of being spies. **Many have to wait years for their release. **
Officials at Pakistan’s Fishermen Cooperative Society _ a government agency that administers Karachi’s harbor _ said the fishermen were being interrogated aboard a Pakistani ship in the Arabian Sea before being handed over to police.
India and Pakistan, both nuclear powers, have had tense relations for decades and have fought three wars since gaining independence from Britain in 1947.
**The two countries released many of the fishermen they were holding late last year as danger of another war between them subsided. **
That's Joint Intelligence Committee (JIC), Research and Analysis Wing [RAW] and Intelligence Bureau of India (IBI aka IB) favorite route to cross Pakistani border and unfortunately Pakistan has to do what india does to our poor fishermen.
That's why India was whining for their agents in Pakistani captivity after Agra Summit and didn't have nerve to say "the one in prison as fishermen".

I think both sides should come up with something so that fishermen from Pakistan and India won't make the mistake over and over again.
There's any possibility to layout a plot or something to be clear for fishermen which side they are on while fishing.
11 more arrested!
Pak arrests 11 Indian fishermen
KARACHI: Pakistan’s coast guard arrested 11 Indian fishermen, alleging they illegally entered Pakistani waters in the Arabian Sea, officials said on Friday.
The fishermen and their two boats were seized Thursday about 100 kilometers (60 miles) from the southern port city of Karachi, police inspector Shahid Abbas said.
The men were to appear in a Karachi court on Saturday. India and Pakistan often arrest each other’s fishermen, charging them with straying illegally into their waters and interrogating them on suspicions of spying. Many wait years to be released.
sure, i know where this is headed!
musharaf will suggest that all fishing be stopped by Indians and pakistanis and have 'neutral fishermen' from goraland come and do all the fishing.

Fishermen, Sikhs to be repatriated
ISLAMABAD, Feb 21: The government is all set to repatriate the Indian fishermen currently in Karachi jails and has been in touch with New Delhi in this regard, well-placed official sources told Dawn on Friday.
“We have no intention of keeping them (fishermen) and we will send them all back as soon as possible upon a mutually agreed date,” said a senior foreign ministry official involved in the process.
Pakistan has been trying for quite some time to repatriate some 280 Indian fishermen who had strayed into Pakistan’s territorial waters nearly a year back. The delay has been caused by India’s insistence on their repatriation from Karachi in their boats contrary to Pakistan’s offer of repatriation through the Wagah border.
“We don’t gain any advantage by keeping them in our jails and continuing with our hospitality,” said a senior interior ministry official when contacted by Dawn on Friday.
Pakistani authorities believe these fishermen have been used by Indian intelligence for intelligence gathering. They point to numerous instances of fishermen “prowling in Pakistani waters” details of which have been furnished to the Indian ministry of external affairs. However, officials in Islamabad maintain that Pakistan has treated the matter on purely humanitarian grounds.
Meanwhile, on the issue of the detained 22 Sikh youth in a Quetta jail, the official position is that these Sikhs had entered Pakistan illegally and are being tried under law and going through their sentences. “They will be repatriated as soon as possible,” said a foreign ministry official when queried about their fate.
These Sikhs were arrested last year for illegal entry into Pakistan from Iran.
Pakistan released 280 Indian fishermen. Let’s see if India able to kept her humanitarian promise.
Pakistan releases 280 Indian fishermen
KARACHI: **Pakistan on Tuesday released 280 Indian fishermen and 45 boats detained for fishing in the country’s waters. **
Khan Mohammad Pirzada, a spokesman of the Pakistan Fishermen’s Cooperative Society, said the Indians were being released on humanitarian ground and Pakistan hoped India would follow suit and soon free at least 94 Pakistani fishermen it was holding.
**“I am hopeful that India will reciprocate and release the Pakistani fishermen…India has agreed to release them but it has not mentioned any date,” **Pirzada said.
The released fisherman alongwith their boats sailed off Tuesday evening for Indian coastal town of Pore Bandar. A ship of the Maritime Security Agency (MSA) was escorting the Indian boats, which are expected to reach the Indian fishing town by Thursday.
The released Indian fishermen were handed over to the first secretary of Indian High Commission in Islamabad, RK Sharma, in a simple ceremony. Sharma had earlier issued passports to the released fishermen.
