You are right many others are responsible.
But as Pak Army has been in direct or indirect control of Pakistan since it's creation, there is no other that has as much responsibility and blame for the sad state of Pakistan.

You are right , just the other day Aitzaaz Ehsan was saying that to groom herself Pakistan Army turned a non-friendly country (INDIA) into enemy by declaring war (1965) on them.
I don't know why Aitzaaz Eshsan doesn't remember the role of Bhutto ( a non-army)in conspiracy of 1971. ( list is too long)

These many others are the one u have polluted the army as well, they are worse than army maybe 100 time worse... Ayoub was called in the cabinet by the Civil Govt. for God knows what reason, a number of politician were supporting Ayoub against Fatima Jinnah, A big number was there to support Yehea Khan, Zia's supporter are still in the arena and now we see that every political party is ready to deal with army just to come in power... what does that shows to you...
Re: Pakistan Army's "achievements"..?
It's about time the Army starts to pay for its misadventures over the years. They've always loved getting into politics, overthrowing governments and claiming to have the 'moral authority' to rule the country. The state of the nation should be example enough of how much of a failure they have been.
The new book regarding the army's economic control of the country is a good eye opener for those who were living in a fools paradise believing the army is just out to 'do good' and not 'fill their own pockets'.
And yes the army is increasingly unpopular..they deserve to be. Politicians did not do justice to their mandate either but the army hasnt even got a mandate to be in power and even then they are useless in running the country as well.
Maybe they should win a war first - since that is what they were supposed to do instead of looting the country with the power of the gun.
Re: Pakistan Army's "achievements"..?
^ The problem again, as I said, comes to accountability as I said in many other threads. The army wasn't accountable for the 1965 war [bungled up kashmir operation etc] so we made a bigger mistake in 1971! We never really did any trials after 1971 except just fire niazi [he was responsible but majority of the blame goes to his predecessors like tikka khan etc. who retired with full honor and benefits]. India learned from 1962 and 1965 and reequipped its forces for the 1971 war.
I think it was a famous quote by churchill when someone said that we will lose the war [WW II], to which he asked are our courts working, are people getting justice etc. and the other person said yes. Churchill finally said that in that case, we will be fine [we will not lose].

For a detailed analysis of their achievements one has to read Military Inc
Re: Pakistan Army's "achievements"..?
The more we let the army get away with things, the more they will want to get away with. This has been the case since at least the 1950's.
Re: Pakistan Army's "achievements"..?
See how this thread is totally empty with the usuall no-tow-gooders who are always defending the army and can't say anything when presented with an argument!
Re: Pakistan Army’s “achievements”..?

I think it was 81-84 time or something close in early eighties. A total of 3 years.
The guy returned hilal-e-imtiyaz that was given in 2006. Faiz sahab's soul must be smiling on this.
